I had a prayer request, that I have been praying about for years, and it was never answered. I had begun to believe that some things we just have to live with. But when I asked St. Philomena to pray for me, I was answered within a week. The main point is that everyone should read about this amazing young saint, and ask for her prayers. She is now the saint I dedicate my life to follow.

i attended St. Philomena catholic school for 8 years in Carson, CA back in the 60’s and early 70’s. I currently pray with St. Philomena as one of my patron saints and ask for her strength and conviction in maintaining goodwill and praying that I am able to stay on the straight and narrow path that leads to heaven.
St. Philomena is my favorite saint! I have never asked her for anything that she has never helped me with! She is also my confirmation saint. If you make a promise to her... she will answer your request if it may be the will of God. I have gone to her multiple times and not once have I been denied by the grace of God. It is through her intercession that I was clearly shown that my calling is to the religious life. St. Philomena, powerful with God, pray for us!

the Bible directs us to invoke those in heaven and ask them to pray with us. Not only do those in heaven pray with us, they also pray for us. In Revelation, John sees that "the twenty-four elders [the leaders of the people of God in heaven] fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints" (Rev. 5:8). Thus the saints in heaven offer to God the prayers of the saints on earth. Angels do the same thing: "[An] angel came and stood at the altar [in heaven] with a golden censer; and he was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar before the throne; and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God" (Rev. 8:3-4).
Please know that they are more alive than any of us on earth. They are in the presence of God Himself. For eternity
