Hey angels happy Monday!! Finally were doing a little deep dive and were covering the ULTA beauty situation. Here are the timestamps below for the video
    00:00 Intro
    01:21 History
    01:56 WHY MLMS ARE DANGEROUS
    04:45 Problems with the CEO
    08:51 Products
    10:22 Cost to get started
    11:40 Income disclosure
    17:12 Comp Plan
    21:12 The scam entering ULTA
Extra edit: Gregg is not the CEO of this company but sharing about Her is still important! She does have involvement with the company still from what I can see. Discussing the foundation created by the CEO is still significant. The way the ceo handles things can truly define what the promoters do, how the company is promoted, etc. still important to mention but had to make that additional clarification!

As a former Ulta Manager I can assure you anyone trying to camp out in a store to recruit someone to an MLM would get the boot so fast. The only person I could see possibly doing this without push back would be a designated rep from the company but even so that sort of recruitment would a) undercut Ulta's sales which is a huge no no and b) goes against the atmosphere I know Ulta wants for their stores. There's a reason I still shop at Ulta even though I no longer work there. (I will say this is my experience, I don't speak for the brand or the company, and this was many years ago so things may have changed.)

I remember BC showing up at Target ages ago and feeling incensed by how expensive it was, even compared to Pixi. Finding out later that it was a pyramid scheme just floored me. BC makes its rounds until these big retailers give it a swift, unceremonious boot. I can’t think of any other pyramid scheme that’s showed up in as many retailers as BC. Makes me wonder who they’re paying off.

I used to work at Ulta and they occasionally had little brand "parties" where a certain brand would have deals with a free gift when a certain item was purchased and they would have a spokesperson from that company come in. They'd talk to customers and the staff abt the product and try to push the sales for it (as any another company they want to met a certain amount) So the chance of this happening is very high

I literally got my $600 Dyson air wrap for nothing using my ulta points that I saved up for about 2 1/2 years. I find it easier to spend the $1200 a year at ulta to get the top tier (where points never expire) than to spend $1000 at Sephora for the same tier. I’m still gonna shop at ulta but I don’t plan on purchasing anything that helps an mlm company. But I can see how people who are IN the mlm beauty counter should definitely be pissed now.
(I was annoyed at ulta for the fact that I had to go IN to ulta to get the air wrap. When I tried to get it online I was only allowed to use $250 worth of my points in any one online transaction.)

    • @deirdrelock4235
      @deirdrelock4235 Год назад

Oh, This happened to me tonight on a way smaller scale. I had $67 in points with $16.50 expiring midnight tonight.
I went online and chose 2 items totaling $55.00; however, I could only access $54.00 in points, maximum. I was confused and thought whatever, I’ll pay the $1.08 difference. It rejected my Cashapp Visa for $1.08. (They don’t accept). I then went on chat and after explaining and had someone typing, I was bumped off 3 times. This was odd. I then called and got a person overseas, once she followed what occurred, she put me on hold for well over 10 mins , came back on and said my products couldn’t be shipped without me paying the $1.08 and points cannot be used. No more/no less of explanation. (I had already passed the free shipping threshold) Is it co-incidental or algorithmic that my order was $55 but I was only granted $54 usage. But, I had earned $67.50
Ulta-mately lol. I resorted to text (Pablo) with a condensed explanation and his reply.. “ so sorry for your inconvenience, we will try and do better in the future.” WTH?
So, I have an un-filled order, lost $16.50 in points and NO solution. What a SCAM! Shame on this company!

My hypothesis;. They had a decent, maybe even good product.
They didn't have the money (or they decided to save and that's even worse) for marketing, advertisement, paying influencers to promote it etc. And sending out PR doesn't necessarily mean it will get a review as influencers get way too much to review, also why waste products sending it for free, when you can't control the response.
So they took the easy way, the scummy/scammy way and started an MLM.
I'm guessing many OG seller's already had a small to decent online following & were probably already in an MLM, even those that didn't had friends and family online presence to intially support, buy from them. But not on a scale large enough to profit and they're recruiting friends, meaning crossover. Supply far out ways demand.
    But BC kept profiting.
Made a ton of money, enough to buy a spot in Ulta/saphora and built a large enough fan base for people to want the product.
So they'll no longer need the sellers (plus it obviously won't work, so many will leave) that built the company and due to backlash (I'm guessing) about being an MLM, they'll make some BS apology about how they see now that it wasn't fair & have decided to just be a straight to consumer company & no longer support MLMs.
People will believe and except it, move on forgetting about all the sellers left without an income.
The sellers that slaved away, promoting, selling, advertising the products & struggling for years to be left behind so the shady owner can afford her rent for a spot at Ulta.
    Just a theory

Supporting MLMs = being pro-fraud and pro-crime. I find the local Ulta store very aggressive in its marketing, and the staff are poorly trained in skincare, so I do avoid going in. It's incredibly frustrating in there lol, and I have to argue over things like niacinamide b/c the staff are only learning one word per product, and niacinamide is only for acne in their world. I have been ordering from Ulta a couple times a year, but I will have to stop...kinda bummed since it's sale time. Even if there's no chance of huns in stores (I know it sounds crazy that someone would do that, but huns are often told to do worse things - my acquaintance goes into GNC and tries to sell her products to people in the store), Ulta supporting the hideous MLM model that has been proven to be fraud. If Ulta is that pro-fraud, it's best to just quit shopping there now...or buy BC and return it next day because you won't use MLMs.

This was in South Carolina and my parents and I had recently moved there from Connecticut. My parents about lost their sh*t because selling anything, much less Avon, to people waiting in line to vote is highly illegal and unethical. They chalked it up to the south being backwards, this was in the early 70's. We had another neighbor who actually had earned a pink Cadillac from Mary Kay. It was easier to be a door to door salesperson when there were not a quarter as many options as there are now.

Which isn’t many to be fair. Almost all of them have been americans since mlms aren’t big in my country. I always found it weird but I didn’t know how bad mlms are, and no one else had been that pushy so I also had no idea how to react the first time I met some R&F sellers! They were saying I could be the first person in the country and expand the brand internationally 🤢 Thankfully I eventually came up with an excuse. I also noticed every mlm person I’d met was from conservative christian communities, and most are from the US south. Now I’ve learnt that mlms are often one of their only options since they’re strongly pressured to be housewives. Men don’t seem to want them doing the kinds of work that are actually likely to bring in an income... Which is a big red flag for financial abuse to me but it also explains why those women were so pushy. It’s really sad

I mean it's a basic pyramid scheme that's been going on since the dawn of time. I feel like in middle school we should have learned this when we were tricked into getting fundraiser for the school and we earn "points" to some crappy prize. As an adult we should realize that anytime you got to "pay" into buying all these products with promises that you can in turn sell it for a higher price and make a profit, then well it's a scam, nearly 90% of the time you'll waste more money than make. You might sell one or two but ultimately it's going to the trash can when it expires. The only time it's not a scam is if you can return the products and recover your investment subtracting whatever you sold. But no company would do that. Makeup products are so easy to sell because they know women get together, talk about what products their using and then suddenly you have that one friend who can sell you these Beauty Counter products. But reality is most of the time it's just girls talking and no real commitment is made on going out to buy products. The company is the one who makes all the profit because they don't have to do anything more other than get the money from you.

If we actually think about it, having the company at Ulta will help the MLM side of it to end over time. Because the mlm business works only if you recruit people and who would want to be recruited to a company where the products are at ulta 🤔🤷🏽‍♀️, or as a customer of the Huns why would you pay for shipping and wait a week to have your product when you can get from the ulta store or the ulta website and add on top the ulta discounts/sales they always have online. PLUS the return policy at ulta is like no questions ask if you don’t like it. What will actually help more huns to leave the pyramid or new one to not even join at all. But that’s just My opinion 😅

they are idiots. As a math major, giving the mean and median is not a good look for them (i will try and explain). When the mean and median are roughly the same that is good, it means it is individually distributed/a normal curve (the sat is supposed to be like this, this is ideal, some people are more and some are left, but majority are right in the middle). When the mean is HIGHER than the median, that means there are more people who are earning less (1 person is outweighing a lot of people, most are earning less and a few are earning a lot). When the mean is LOWER than the median, that means more people are earning a lot, a few are bringing it down (1 person earning a little and most earning a lot). They just kicked themselves in the head by releasing that data.

The entire MLM structure is also akin to the stock market as well. The seller in a MLM thinks that they will be getting rich when they're ultimately the revenue stream for the MLM. "A sucker is born every minute, we found ours (you), now go find your own or stay in the negative."
Gregg Renfrew is also a lex luthor type supervillain, it's just so obvious.
