The Flight B741 premier in Boston was insane. The show was right next to Logan airport. The entire concert, planes were landing right behind us. I'm honored to have seen that happen in person.
@Aguyontheinternet Not to mention the intermittent rain, and the heat lightning up in the clouds that just added to the light show. And yeah I'm so glad that I got to see the live premier of that song. It's grown on me so much since the album dropped.
Sad Pilot, Rats in the Sky, and Daily Blues live in both Chicago and St. Louis were amazing to see live!! P.S. The Rats in the Sky fakeout into Magma at St. Louis is a peak Gizz moment
It was great watching them getting into the songs more and more over the tour. Its like Haki in One Piece, they get better on stage haha. Hog Calling Contest will get so good if they continue to play it
Could you label where each of these live versions came from? I can suss it out for a few based on the venue and their clothes lol, but would appreciate knowing where the others came from
This works a lot better for me live than it does on the album. It's the first in a very long time I'm just not getting very excited for one of their albums even after multiple listens. The studio version sounds cluttered to me, I'm constantly feeling like at any given moment they have 1 or 2 instruments/voices too many vying for attention. Live though, this sounds tight! Still think some of the vocal lines are written a bit ambitiously for how well they tend to do live with that xD Lot of notes not being hit here, but it's all good :p
I felt the same when the album dropped. Was lucky enough to see them five times this tour and with each show it seemed like those tracks got tighter and they put effort into soundchecking them. By the time the Gorge show was overwith, I was surprised that b741 tracks were some of my fav memories of the first half of the tour
I don't like to admit it but your absolute right I have nearly every kglw album and they all take a few listens.but this one does sound generic or cluttered .a disappointment actually
@@maxxblack2802 I won't lie to ya. Now that the first leg of the tour is overwith, I've been vibing real hard with NYC Daily Blues and Le Risque. Hog Calling Contest > Road Train at the Gorge was also great. These dudes play to their strengths and make themselves better moving into new territory. Although I don't go back to the studio album, the live tracks in the context of a whole show work well.
@@maxxblack2802 So far out of a discography of 26 (?) There's maybe only like 6 I am not a huge fan of though. So overall these guys are still preposterously prolific and generally make awesome stuff, to my ears at least. The first 2, Sketches, Oddments, 75% of Quarters (The River is awesome!) and this latest one just will not click no matter how hard I tried xD For Flight, I've seen their little docu about how they approached this, having a more loose writing approach, all of them sitting down for ssessions where they have a general idea of where to go with it and just going with the flow. I know also that Stu doesn't like "cooking" too long, but yeah, for the reasons I mentioned this one felt like it needed a few more weeks of finetuning. If you've ever been to an open mic jam night, where there's a guitarist that really just wants to rip fat solos and show off xD That's what this album feels like, as if there's 6 of those all going at it at once :p
Ambrose on Hog Calling Contest is out of this world.

Grateful to be in the audience for the debut of Hog Calling Contest. Living 10 minutes from Red Rocks is such a blessing. 🎉❤
I'm jealous!
My wallet would not survive all the awesome concerts I’d be able to see if I was you ^^
Hey man I got to see the debut of field of vision and it was pretty sick
Bootleg Lizard for President

I agree. I was at Chicago, but couch streamed st Louis. The Philly show a week or two before chicago was excellent too

Field of Chicken slaps so hard I want Ambrose to make a full parody album called WL/GK
We don't need no chicken

The armory version of Le risqué was the best one. So lucky to have lived it
