Jason, thank you for saying what so many are afraid to; locomotives are an INVESTMENT. I agree wholeheartedly and I’m so grateful you openly stated this fact!
I remember reading in my Turbo manual that you had “all but given up on N-scale models”. I’m glad you guys stuck with N-scale, because your models are the best in the industry!
And even though I model ho scale, this is what I like, and why I continue to be a client: RAPIDO TRAINS INC DOESN'T HALF STEP ON SPECIFIC MODELS! I like that! If it ain't right, or prototypically correct, they won't release it! It's an investment! And I treat all of my Rapido models as such! Spot-on! I need them rants! You guys will always have my business!
recently got the N scale GMD-1 as a christmas gift to myself, and i must say the quaility is GREAT! LOVE the sound and detail. only thing I would have liked to see would have been operating ditchlights but that seems hard for n scale unless its built into the body of the loco like the fp9a.

At 6:34 are those ditch lights mis matched or is that just an eye trick, or it could just be a weird Canadian thing, that’s why if I could start over I would model 60s to 90s Canada rather than the modern us that I currently model, because of the weird Canadian things, they’re different, and the fact that you guys go out of your way to do those weird details is what makes you guys great, also, before this gets too long, great to see Jason in another video, I always enjoy how much he knows and how he gives every model all of his knowledge, well, I’ll go now, it’s already way too long.
Thanks for the support! These are hand built and painted samples so the fit and finish isn't quite the same as production model will be. In any case the ditch light parts will be matching.
Beautiful locos. Rapido do good job to make them correct. But first thing I’m thinking, where are the B units. If you come out with the A unit, you should have come out the same time with the B units. Now you can’t get your set complete.
Interesting that you have a copy of Capital Transports Midland Red book in the background of Jason’s slot, are you planning to produce Midland Red model buses. Great video by the way

(You did read the Valliant comic when you were here of course?) Could you update the international dealers? None of the ones listed have the FP9A listed. We won't be getting new samples before the deadline next month, but we will be posting another video once the production models arrive next spring! We do update all our dealers with new product announcements, but it's possible some don't update their websites. We'll keep that in mind however to be looked into.
Those look great! I'm still undecided on which VIA Rail units to get for my Canadian. Would any of the VIA units work for that train, or would some not be appropriate?

Awesome! Can't wait! 👍😎 Hey, I didn't know that Jason also came with his own steam generator! 😉
Ya the steam was coming out of his ears after that segment! 😂
There were a very few FP9m’s built for C&NW. Those were the prototype for the “American” maker’s units.
👍
Man, Jason really went off...great models, as usual. You don't get this many lights, even in O scale.
Thanks! He seriously needed to blow off some steam apparently. 😂
LOL. Jason's rant. I'd love to hear more Jason's rant comparisons with other manufacturers models.
We’re almost inclined to make it a regular feature! 😂
Picked one of theses up today at my local train show from Spring creek all I can say is “The attention to detail is amazing!”
Thank you!
I’d like to see more of Jason’s rants! Great model!
Thanks! We're sure he'll be back with another rant in the future.
