I’m based in Boston and would love to meet more doll fans! I already met some at Anime Boston, just have to get us all together. If anyone seeing this is in MA or the Northeast, let me know and we can get together, take photos and eat Japanese snacks. 🥰
My start in the hobby was interesting, we had a national association with a board and everything. But the onep running it was very volks elitist. If you owned a volks, they would praise you. Or welcome you. But I had fairyland, and was not a good enough for some ppl. I was a constant pain for those elitist ppl, because I welcomed everyone. Specially those who traveled a long way (like I did, one meet was a 3 day weekend event for me with lodging, travel and food). Me and my friend held meetups and we put in so much effort to welcome everyone, regardless of what doll they have. The association is dead now, and there is no doll meetups in my region :( everyone is so split up now.
