Way too inconsistent. At some point they have to beat the teams they’re supposed to. This has been an issue for several years now.

Yep, when we finish like 6 GB of the O’s at the end of the year and are camping in a WC series we’ll have to point back to the Marlins L, Rays shutout in 10 innings with the punt lineup and the split with the A’s as to why

Yankees can't come out of the 2023 season debacle even with Juan Soto in the mix. Judge Soto combo is a failure. Did judge juice in 2022 season to secure that contract from the Yankees? 2024 season judge is unrecognizable.
Can it be as simple as: they start the year with high intensity, excitement, & focus.
Then the marathon effect kicks in, they know they have wiggle room so the pressure isn’t on, and they play inferior competition so they take their foot off the gas.
Im not a Yankees fan, but Aaron Judge seems like he's completely out of it. The team (other than pitching) has low energy vibes. I feel like Boone is a part of it, but he's parisitically attached in a way that will be hard to fire him. However, a losing season would expedite the process.
I'm going to not watch the Yankees for a while after this series. I also was pretty pissed after they dropped one to the Marlins. At absolute worst you "just" win a four game series at home against the A's. I have no idea what the fuck this team is now, after starting great and now collectively slipping on a banana peel and landing on their nuts.

Genuinely doesn’t it feel like Stanton and rizzo are what’s killing the offense? Those guys are .200 hitters who strikeout more than anything else… having them 4 and 5 is pretty crazy. The Stanton strikeout followed by Rixxo GIDP in the first with bases loaded was brutal

The Yankees are still very flawed. They improved, sure, but they are still a much less impressive and exciting team than a lot of others out there
