3 months later and every regular person / group / reddit I've come across is saying some variation of: "Get that ai garbage / spam off of here. It's flooding everything and has become easily recognizable for it's kitschy, dead, non-expression. If you love this topic, then impress us by making it yourself". I'm not talking sites that are focused on art of any type, per sey; but lotr, fandom, etc. type places. They accepted ai at first but it's *already* getting on everyone's nerves. The same will follow for music, I imagine. It's actually a nice revelation to learn something deeper about the human condition. I'm impressed that the Average Joe is more sophisticated than we thought, and he doesn't like being fooled. I believe this human preference will stand for the purest/highest arts (Visual, Music, Film) where intent is vital. I do get that ai may dominate in facilitating commercial arts, 3d modelling and gaming. TLDR: The expressive arts were the first to get attacked and left for dead, but will show resiliency: Because art consumers are human.
Computers will not replace people in next like 50-300years. Did they replace engineers? Did they replace architects? Nope, but they are extremely helpful tools for both.
This is definitely a conversation that needs to be had, especially as a college art student 😭
