Hey thanks for the video my cat went out and it was giving me a p2040 code so I had toswap out the exhaust manifold . Video helped quick tip for those doing trying to get the bolts from the bottom a 19mm deep socket or a 3/4 dose the job with an extension gives you more leverage to undo those bolts their super hard . Soak them in wd40 first and it be super easy . As well as use anti seize on the treads when putting it back together.

Steve Aguilar yes they fit perfect no special modding needed the only thing u have to do is weld the bung on to the flex pipe for the downstream sensor other than that everything fit perfect even the gasket it comes with and the brand is maintec headers i was iffy about it too but i just went ahead and bought them till this day since installed i enjoy hearing the sound of my car 💯💪🏻

Unless your flex pipe is torn and producing a exhaust leak, it’s not a necessity to replace that with the head/cat combo but a flex pipe in general is needed for the exhaust to have the ability to flex with the torque of the engine
No its the flex pipe! And honestly i was tuned already with headers and it passed smog! Until i went full straight piped it did make the engine light turn on!
@@noegarcia4875 I'm thinking about installing a Defouler in my car in order to pass smog, do think that would work for now before I get a tune? Also, if I were to get a defouler, where would I put it? before or after the CAT?
U should wear gloves man! I did this job on mine the oem manifold gasket is very sharp on the edges I want to do this on my car but were I live I have inspections but I deleted my second cat lol
Jesse Bolles i did buy some but felt uncomfortable since they are kind of thick! Also here in vegas smog is required every year but i did mine a week before changing them out so i should be good for a couple more months!
@@noegarcia4875 oh ok well if it fails smog test because of your header then put your oem catalytic converter back in ( once u take out the honey cone) and put adaptors in were your 02 sensors go so it will keep the check engine light off ...also if u have the heat shield on the top it will hide the top o2 sensor when they pop open the hood for inspection

I just bought the same one from MainTec from Sharkracing eventho there were some bad reviews about them but they were all old reviews and I could find some good reviews as well. Anyways I paid for it with paypal so I'm on the safe side either way. Can't wait to install it. Again thanks a lot for sharing the video
@@noegarcia4875 Did you remove flex pipe by yourself? I guess mine is so rusted (Canada) that I bought an electric impact wrench to be able to unbolt it.
wolvie45 yea it took some force but i was able to get them i sprayed every bolt with WD40 before i started and only tools i used was what u see in the video!! And damn thats tough were u able to get them off tho? Are you recording your process? Curious too see 🤔

Yes i do drive it everyday allday and till this day no problem with heat and i dont have them wrapped!

Unfortunately yes it did turn on! about a week after installing them! After about 2 months the light randomly shut off while i was driving!

I almost bolted it all the way up but the upstream oxygen sensor thread diameter is too small for the header. I had to tear it down. What a headache.

No. Turbo cars, the Turbo is integrated into the exhaust manifold. They may bolt up but if you put it on, it will be N/A lol

I just bought the catalytic converter but it's only the header, not the bottom piece you removed first. Is the bottom piece a neccesity?

There i only had a muffler delete with custom tips! Now its full straight piped from the flex pipe all the way back had it done at muffler shop

How did you remove that damned bolt around 3:00. I removed all except one since I can't remove it with torque wrench, or impact electric wrench.
Honestly it took me about 10 min just to remove that one and i used a small ratchet tool after trying different angles was finally able to get it!!!
