    Commenting three years after this video was uploaded to say that this is extremely helpful lol. Thinking of doing this process at some point in the future with my shiba inu Nori!

    This information has been helpful. Thank you for making this video! My main concern now is that I have 3 cats. One of them is fat and the other two just turned 1 so they are still small. Looks like I'll have to talk to the airline about that.😅

      Becky-Lynn, thanks for this comment and the one from our live show! It can be tough figuring out the logistics of bringing a pet and most of it will have to be dealt with directly with whichever airline you choose, as the policies vary. But it's been done before, so it's definitely possible! We wish you the best of luck and of course we're available via email if you have any inquiries about how we can help you with the rest of the process :)

    I have a question. The final vet inspection must to be in the last week? or can be earlier? 1 week to stamp the documents in my country it's impossible xD Thanks a lot for all the information!!

      Hi there! The final vet inspection must take place within 10 days of going to Japan, as described in this article: gogonihon.com/en/blog/bringing-your-pet-to-japan/

    What about birds I can't live without mimo and I don't know the procedure

    • @GoGoNihonGo
      @GoGoNihonGo  11 месяцев назад +1

      Birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, rodents, rabbits and invertebrates do not need to go through the usual rabies vaccine procedure but may be subject to other requirements. It is best to contact either your relevant authority or Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries for the most accurate information: www.maff.go.jp/aqs/english/animal/im_index.html

    Konnichiwa, thank you for this great video! I have 2 norwegian forest cats, they're from a registered and certified breeder, they've got microchips and are registered with the respective agencies. However, I have a question, I am applying to work in Japan via the JET program, I don't know if I will be accepted yet so will this whole process be bad for the cat if I do all of it and don't get accepted and don't end up coming to japan? I hope you can help me...

    • @GoGoNihonGo
      @GoGoNihonGo  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Areefa, thanks for your comment! As you're probably aware from the video, bringing your pet to Japan is a long and expensive process and one that needs to be adhered to strictly, especially if you don't come from a rabies-free region (Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, the Fiji Islands, Hawaii and Guam. If you do come from one of the designated rabies-free areas, then the process is a little simpler, but you will still need to spend time and money to complete the process properly.
      There shouldn't be any harm to your cats if it turns out you won't be able to come to Japan, however it could be very expensive for you as you'll need to ensure your cats have the right vaccinations and paperwork.
      If you have a long enough lead time between finding out whether you're accepted on the JET program and your intended arrival in Japan (about 9 months is best), then it would be better if you started the process of bringing your pets to Japan once you know for sure if you are coming to Japan or not.
      Hope that helped a bit!

      @@GoGoNihonGo かんしゃしますう! thank you so much, I have saved enough money for the process but I will take your advice. They are pure pedigree cats from a registered breeder so they already have been micro chipped and have all their lineage documented and vet books. I will start the process as soon as I know.

      Sure! If you need more info, you can access it here: www.maff.go.jp/aqs/english/animal/dog/index.html
      Also note that it can be really challenging finding an affordable place to live that allows pets, so once you know for sure if you're coming to Japan then make sure to get straight into finding accommodation as you'll need that confirmed in order to help complete the process of bringing your cats to Japan :)

    Ciao! Video molto interessante, credo di aver capito quasi tutto anche se non sono esperta in inglese, ma era tutto comprensibile. Io e il mio ragazzo vorremmo trasferirci a Tokyo a lungo termine (per restarci) e ci stiamo informando su Go Go Nihon. Unica cosa fondamentale è che anche noi abbiamo gatti, dico gatti perché ne ho 3 io e 3 lui. La mia veterinaria era già a conoscenza della procedura dei vaccini e tutto e li sto microchippando già da ora (volevamo trasferirci a Tokyo fra circa 2 anni). Chi devo contattare intanto per avere maggiori informazioni su come funziona il tutto? Grazie infinite.

    What happenen if i loose my cat in japan? I mean can i come back in italy or there's like a fee to pay?

    • @GoGoNihonGo
      @GoGoNihonGo  7 лет назад

      Another purpose of microchipping your cat would be so that it is easily found if it were to ever run away. However, we would of course advise that you do everything in your power to avoid losing your cat in Japan! As for bringing it back to your home country, it would depend on Italy's official import process when bringing a pet from Japan.
