Thanks for the wonderful testimony. God is merciful but expect us to realize our generational cycles and repent from them. So that our children be healed.

But if God does not provide us with a way that will truly bring us into true repentance of a sin then how will we repent ? Because we can't repent on our own God is the one who needs to cause us and bring us into repentance

Somebody please help me, I need to understand. I will give detail and then ask something.
I have only recently come to realize the importance of this topic. So I know it's going to be a process. I want to clean up my own life and trust the Lord to be victorious.
I have come upon a certain pastor who does deliverance. But the moment he hears or says the word spirit, he interprets it as being a demon and you need to be set free from that demonic influence or possession.
To be clear, I do believe in the existence of demons and their evil schemes, but I cannot believe that everything wrong in my or any Christian's life is always the direct result of demonic influence. Somewhere along the line people have to confess and repent from their own sin.
When the Bible talks of a spirit of fear, according to that pastor it's a demon and it needs to be rebuked or cast out.
Sometimes in a school the principal will talk to the students and say there is a spirit of ill discipline and students need to fix their attitude. The principal in reality means ill discipline is the ruling attitude among students.
Do I understand this correctly or am I wrong? How do I discern? When do I repent and when will it be demonic control? Or when the Bible use the word spirit, does it always mean a demon? Because that is how the pastor will interpret that. Somebody please explain.

It is my belief that the word “spirit” can, and is used in both senses. You might say that Saul in the Old Testament, had a spirit (or attitude coming from wrong thinking) of pride and rebellion. It ultimately resulted in God rejecting him when Saul disobeyed God’s clear command. At that point, the Bible says that the Spirit of the Lord left him and an evil spirit from the Lord came to torment him. In that case, his attitude of pride and rebellion opened him up to a true evil spirit to oppress or even possess him.
We repent anytime the Lord helps us to see how we are thinking, believing, and acting in a wrong way, or embracing a wrong attitude. When God brings these things to light, it is so that we can repent and be forgiven and free. In these times I believe God is “granting us repentance.” When we repent from our sins, we are taking back the legal ground the enemy has, and it is not a bad idea to say something like, “I am closing those doors, and if I have allowed any spiritual oppression, depression or possession through my sins, I repent and renounce them and bind those spiritual forces and command them to leave in the Name of Jesus."
For example, I worked with a woman who, through the sin of fornication, said she felt an evil spirit come into her while being intimate with a man that was not her husband. She proceeded to puke for three days and from that moment would go into fits of rage. In that case she not only needed to repent from her sin, but also deal with the spirit that was oppressing her, or in this case I believe, possessing her. There is not a demonic spirit under every rock, but I do believe much of the “Church” is ignorant of the spiritual forces, many times, that are preying upon people as we, or even those in our past, have opened the doors for spiritual forces to oppress, depress, and possess.
It is my belief that people get out of balance many times on both sides of this issue. Many times I try to lead people in prayers of repentance from their sins and then teach them to say, "If I have invited evil spirits to oppress me and my family through my sins, I take authority over them, and command them to leave in Jesus’ Name."
When we live in sin, it is like leaving your doors and windows open when you know that there are those who want to come in to kill, steal, and destroy. It doesn’t mean that if you leave the door unlocked that will be the night they come, but there is certainly the opportunity.
God bless. I hope this is helpful in some way.

Pastor Steve, thank you very much. Your perspective is pretty much how I also interpret this. I just needed confirmation because I have never really clarified this in my own mind.
I must admit I have until recently been very uninformed regarding giving legal right to the enemy. The Lord spoke to me through different people who don't know each other, then I started looking into this.
      May God bless you ministry.
