@@The_sparkwithin What the fuck are you talking about? Caicedo has been in large part the best midfielder in the world this season. He also had a much more impressive season that got him a move. Caicedo pretty much helped carry a much worse Brighton to Europa under RDZ. Had Arsenal bidding 70m for him in January. Baleba is good be he isn't Caicedo levels at all.
I love Baleba as a talent but he's frustrated me this season with over dribbling the ball and his focus on easy passes has been poor. HOWEVER, he is so talented so Brighton giving him the freedom to express himself will accelerate his development so much rather than playing it safe.
That's the thing that you don't really see from straight clip watching. Baleba has an incredible physical profile, is a powerful dribbler and relatively press resistant - huge decision making issues though. Not knowing when to commit to challenges or not. Getting overzealous with his dribbling. Not reading passing options quick enough. He could probably make the step up to a bigger club but he isn't as polished as Caicedo or Mac Allister were at Brighton. Baleba needs another season or two to master his game.
@@ElChapo-j8y Don't think it'd be a good move for either side. Chelsea still have Lavia as well. Where would you like to see Baleba go? Liverpool or City?
He is at the perfect club that is patient with young players and happy to give him time to grow and develop just like they did Bissouma, Caicedo and MacAlister
Hard to believe that Brighton were playing to crowds of 3 or 4k people in an old athletics stadium with no roof, absolutely penniless in the fourth tier, consistently placing in the bottom half of the table a coupe of decades ago. While Brighton has always had the potential to get to the top flight, they were there in the early 80s for example and they are not a small town, their rise shows that a well run football club with intelligent, ambitious people steering the ship can bring a club back from the dead and then push them further than they've ever been before...and then KEEP doing it over and over again, buying low, selling high, finding brilliant young coaches out of thin air, playing football that has even Guardiola waxing lyrical...just a superb advert for everything right about English football in the 21st century. Baleba is going to be a star if he isn't one already. His destiny is with one of the European giants, earning Brighton a LOT of money in sell on fees, and doubtless they will go and use a tiny fraction of that money to replace him with someone just as good if not better.
Just hope Brighton can start to keep hold of these players now.I know there scouting is really good. But there's only so long you can sell players season after but before you come unstuck.
