I can hear Gordon Ramsay lambasting Marge's cafe from halfway across the world.
He had a lot to say during his first HOT ONES appearance. He was talking about you are on the way to success if you can get customers on Mondays through Wednesdays - EVERYONE is usually busy on the weekends, but if you're busy on those days, you're doing something right.
This reminds me of a video on op’s friend who opened a bigger clinic next to the older clinic. The problem: the new clinic was too expensive and that the friend’s husband at the time had lawsuits against him for malpractice. Op in both stories was trying to give them advice but they ignored them and that’s why their businesses and lives went downhill. Moral of the story with this video and the one I mentioned: treat your customers or patients well and business will be successful. And take advice and concerns seriously instead of brushing them off.

Marge clearly hasn’t watched enough Diners Drive Ins and Dives - it’s not about the hot trendy new thing it’s about Meaningful Connection and Quality … people don’t go back to a spot bc it ‘looks cool’ they go back to the place with the good food and that’s what makes it cool
A local diner that had been open for over 40 years closed due COVID. It was a neighborhood type place where all the locals met. When it reopened with new owners after the bans on public meetings was over, it was a trendy, new age place.. The portions were small and poorly cooked, the prices high and the service bad. I only made the mistake of eating there once. Went belly up after a year.
A three generation cafe is a small town fixture and totally different from a new trendy bistro. Marge has no business sense and little to no common sense.
Whenever my mom, brother, and I are on vacation in big cities we try to find small family restaurants in the smaller streets than the big ones near the tourist points. often better food and treatment
So Marge did ALL of this lure Mary-Ann’s husband away from her? It appears that even with kids, Marge has too much time on her hands.

What i like in places like this, as well as good food, is good and friendly service.
The one thing about fancy cafes is they have to charge fancy prices.

I think Marge concocted this whole thing because she was jealous of Mary Ann and wanted to bring her down.

This was a good one! Instead of repeating the same ‘StoryLines’, and simply changing the names or relationships of the people involved, you actually came up with a new idea/skit and that made it worthy of listening! If you keep the creativity going and hire someone to fix the grammar, spelling, and improper vocabulary usage, you will gain more Subscribers and Listeners!!!

Ok, so you can't "pressed charges" on someone for slandering you or your business.. you can sue them civilly but that is not a criminal offense. There's no jail time for this.

Glad it failed, the husband stealing and Marge's cafe. It is the food and service that make a good eatery, not the decor. You cannot eat or drink decor.

There's a cafe I've been to where the building as seen better days but the coffee... oh the coffee. Also its a retro arcade (having arcade games as old as Space Invaders to Dance Dance Revolution and first person shooters).
The cafe? 8-Bit Beans. Its located in Whitby, ON, Canada (about 20 km east of Toronto). Nearly all their coffee have game-based names. Customers can order coffee for home already ground (they ask what level of ground) or beans.
Forgot to mention they have a couple of tables with "console games" though which consoles I don't know. I think at least one is a Playstation
The more you try to "help" by pushing people to come help YOU, the more DESPERATE *YOU* SOUND. I do hope you remember than over half of all new restaurants fold within just a couple years, and planned accordingly when it came to your loans!
Just ask what days the others open and than open on other days or other times as much as possible
