In this special edition of the Let's Talk Resident Evil Podcast, we had the pleasure of interviewing Pablo Kuntz for this episode of the show. You may know him as the OG Albert Wesker from the original Resident Evil! We discuss the process of recording with some behind the scenes discussion around the original voice acting process back in the day as well as what Pablo has been up to with his business over in Japan. As an extra bonus we also talk to his son Lexonal towards the end of the show who is also working on future content for RUclips. This was an amazing opportunity for us and we hope everyone enjoys the show!

It's incredible that the voice actors forget that they've worked on the game. This the same thing happened with Jill's voice actor, she didn't even know that RE went on to be a big thing.

Awesome he's doing this. Played this game through out my whole life. Since I was a kid to now in my 30s, I still play the original every few years.

This interview was absolutely amazing. just hearing all about it. Of course its a long time ago and things can be difficult to recall but it really seems like he's interested in it. A ghost from his past rising and enjoying it. Lost of fun topics too. Bringing on his kid was pretty awesome too. Great to see him playing the OG RE1

I love a lot how Pablo is voice actor for just one single game ("one hit wonder" as he said) but both the game and his role there are legendary and even more - he's got so enthusiastic to talk with fans and he talks a lot about life, how it should be as challenging as our fav game and that struggle is actually rewarding after all… such an amazing and open-minded human being. His and Lexonal's Let's Plays of RE games are gold, I've rarely enjoyed any LPs like that. Thank you guys for this beautiful podcast, you rocked it!

I love the part 1 hour in when you two are taking about how gaming used to be, some great memories!
The first voice that you hear in the game is actually Berry’s. He says “What is this?” Then Wesker says “Wow what a Mansion!”

Spectacular interview with the man himself! Getting to know these original actors/voice-actors from the first masterpiece is a blast!
Hopefully more to come in the future, with the live actors too, like Eric Pirius, Kravlasky, Barry's one, Linda, and maybe Inezh if he changes her mind.

I just listened today and a few other of the podcasts. You guys do an awesome job and Pablo was awesome. Not sure which one, may have been this one you guys spoke of RE being the first survival horror game, that is not true. Haunted House on Atari I believe takes the credit if I remember correctly. Plus Alone in the Dark and Clock Tower actually came out before RE.
I believe Jon said this on the show but regardless, I think he was mentioning that i "Coined" the term survival horror and made it more of a household name. There was even the game "Sweet Home" that came out on NES that was based of the film that came out before this. So yes, some were out there indeed. RE 1996 just made it progress on another level - Anthony
I was introduced to the series with Resident Evil 2 in 1998. I watched my brother playing it on N64, I was like 11 years old. But it wasn't until 2000 when I beat the game myself on Dreamcast along with RE3 Nemesis and played a bit of Code Veronica. My very first experience with RE1 was with the Remake but I didn't even know it was a Remake of the 1996 game, that Remake had a very quiet launch. So I've never played the 1996 original 😅 I grew up with the Remake.

I've never actively watched the show myself, or knew of the comparisons between it and RE, but I do remember my mother watching that show along with "One Life to Live" every morning/afternoon. If I had heard or seen THAT interpretation of the show, I'd probably be looking at my mom in a completely different light.. ☠

@@SurvivalSpheres no it's Springfield all the buildings and streets In Resident Evil 2 were taken from there and they have a day dedicated to Resident Evil in the city.
The Japanese have limited English in speaking.
