Maradona was playing in 80s and 90s and he was famous all over the world like Micheal Jackson... my uncle was living in very small village in Yemen and they were busy with war and poverty and too many things but yet he told me Maradona was soooo famous in that small village that he made all the kids to fill in love with football and play it all over the streets.... his impact was unmatchable... there will not be another Maradona.
Amazing!!
Exactly. Maradona and MJ ruled the airwaves whenever they showed up. Don't forget Mike Tyson.
It was exactly as you described growing up in the 80s and early 90s for me! He made the news every single day, he was as famous as Michael Jackson!
What he did at Napoli was monumental .It was like going to Fulham then winning the premier league twice .
Agree
And winning a european cup too
@@danielstylo they never won the european cup tf u saying
Fulham? What a load of rubbish. He had a strong team
@@euphoria-1045 They won a UEFA cup...
She’s beautiful, smart and one of the best at what she does. And yes “ El Pelusa” Diego will live forever.
Her final words were beautifully expressed. Very touching. On a separate issue, she is stunning and incredibly intelligent. Lovely woman.
She's not gonna shag you Javier
He was a great player. But a drug addict, domestic absuer, communist and a cheat. All in all, a very bad man.
Beautiful, smart, multilingual, highly articulate, loves football and clearly compassionate as well...
shut it simp, its about maradonna
Just been to Naples last week. Words can’t describe the connection between him and the city he will forever be a god in Napoli. Spine tingling walking the streets recently.
Thank you, Kate, for your fantastic delivery... your emotions came through. I am Argentine, born over 50 years ago, and saw the whole of Maradona's career, then and in later years, thanks to the magic of the Internet. I have wept when Diego passed away, and hearing your words got me going again... I'm crying, as he is and always be sorely missed. I'll always love you, Diego!
Kate Abdo is Stunning.
I wish my wife could say all of those nice things about me
@@ahmedomer820 - I wish she WERE my wife. 😁

FFS keep yr teenage chemicals in tack ... It's about D10S and not about your sad libido !
she is singular. got me plotting crimes
I’m English to me he’s the greatest ever without question
Played in an era of difficult pitches and defenders who just wanted to smash him from behind
The modern players are so protected with defenders getting yellow cards for minimal tackles and then playing on ice for the rest of the game
He dealt with defenders who hacked him down got nothing
He was a rascal but you couldn’t help but love him as a footballer
I remember watching the 86 game and devestated but you forgive genius
Yes, really protected. Watch hazard play.
Respect
Agree.
As an Englishman, I hated his handball and he will still be a cheat in that respect.
But outside of that, he was for me still the greatest player to ever play the game, and there will never be another like him.
Remember that the brutality of the fouls against him is cheating and maybe criminal. Diego never complained. The greatest footballer of all time.
Fair play to you English for your fair play
He was like a champion of the people, you could always feel it.
Maradona's level of controling a football was a gift from God unmatched by the greatest players that ever played the beautiful game.
He was born to play football.
Messi is brilliant.
Ronaldo is brilliant.
Maradona was special, in a league of his own, a level above the greatest of great players.
His control of a football was supernatural.
"What Zidane could do with a football Maradona could do with an orange."
- Michel Platini -
He was a total cheat simple fact
@@JohnDoe-mf1jy
If people are still chewing over things that happened 30 to 40 years ago, i think it's time to put that to rest seeing as the Man's now dead.
He changed modern Football forever, that's a fact.
"He was my inspiration and my idol, if i can be half as good as he was i'll be more than happy with that."
- Lionel Messi -
@@JohnDoe-mf1jy haters gonna hate.
Only kids born after 2000s say Messi is superior in technique and personality on the pitch. He can have more longevity and numbers, but I really doubt Messi could go to Getafe and win the Champions and Liga in a span of 2 years.
@@AguantelDiego86
Messi was great, no doubt, he was probably the best of his generation.
Maradona was the greatest of any generation though, he did things with a ball that i've never saw any other player do.
He would keepy-up a pair of socks like it was the easiest thing anyone can do, but we all know how insanely difficult that is, and watching him keepy-up a golf ball with the back of his heel is just crazy.
I saw footage of Maradona practising free kicks from about 25 yards out and every one hit the post on purpose, that level of accuracy and control is mind blowing.
Maradona had the greatest skill and control i've ever saw, even watching him training was mesmerising.
Brilliant.
Maradona was the best player of our time.
Best of all time
@@AR-78612 of our time
@@jamesstevenson7725 Of all time
the greatest player of all times !!!!!
Maradona was Leonardo Da Vinci of football. R.I.P Diego Maradona the greatest football player of all time.
Pele - Da Vinci
Maradona - Michaelangelo
Messi - Einstein
Ronaldo Nazario - Tesla
No, Maradona was NOT the greatest. But he was great.
CR7 is always claim that he is the greatest and the far better than any other football player in the history of football in any other generation.
yes, he was the greatest.
Without a doubt the best I ever saw. So diverse, so complete, humble, a true true teamplayer, important t the back, midfield and attack. Best passer, best dribbler, one of the best freekicks, great rushes at great length, just no one ever did that but who knows, one day, someone will be better. I hope so because it is nice for kids to witness such a miracle. Messi did that btw at least to some degree, being easily the best of his time but ws not that good and also lacks the personality to connect that well to people.
Kate sounded like she was a true fan of El Diego.
who the fuck wasn't a fan of Diego?
Yes she was, she said it !?
What a deserving a beautiful tribute to the magical peoples football hero
Armando Diego Maradonna.
Absolute magician , people need to remember the pitches he was playing on
The greatest world cup goal he scored against England was even more impressive when you hear the English players describe how bad the pitch was to dribble on. The turf had only been recently laid and it was in squares, so players were struggling to balance because the squares of turf would slide apart when a foot was planted on them. One player likened it to running on carpet samples. It basically made running with the ball near impossible, yet Maradona managed to dribble past the entire England team to score that goal.
And the defenders of the time who were allowed to tackle with impunity
the best there ever was to football
And those tackles!!! ooof!
Also, the most fouled player in a world cup: 53 times
As an argentinian i must say that this is a beautiful tribute, thanks for it.
Congrats on winning your 3rd WC.
@@Jbeggar After Diego's win finally Leo get what he deserves, thanks!!
I remember watching the 86' world cup. I watched my father cry for the first time. I was 11 and I still recall the games of the past. Beautiful video
Maradona the king of football
No. He was a God!!
I was very fortunate to see Diego in person at Giants stadium when Barcelona played the cosmos as a twelve year old it was an amazing experience to this day at 51 years old that memory will live with me for ever, and when I found out that Diego was gone my heart was in my stomach as I'm sure people around the world also experienced, R.I.P. Dieguito.
The best tribute I heard. She’s smart, intelligent, understands the game very well, charming.
Wow! What a statement of condolence by Kate!! Clearly, it came from the heart, hence why it flowed so well! A well deserved accolade to one of the very best footballers of the planet! Thank you, Kate!
❤thanks a lot kate❤
The Michelangelo of the beautiful game, the football pitch his canvas and the ball at his feet a medium of artistic expression that was unlike any other.....what an amazingly fitting way to describe Maradona. Many greats have come and gone, many more still will be forgotten but Maradona will always be remembered for as long as football is played.
Kate Abdo - What an awesome and perfect ode to the greatest footballer. Thank you for paying this magnificent respect!
I don’t care who comes and goes there will never ever be other like Diego Maradona
She’s graceful as a fairy. I can watch and listen to her all day long
He was iconic. The name Maradona is synonymous with unadulterated genius. He was deeply passionate. He was also crazy. Generous but simultaneously selfish. He defined that era of football. The Argentinan jersy commenced to hold that aura of awe because of Maradona.
Excelent comment👏👏👏
Excellent comment thanks
It brought tears. Diego will always be in our hearts.
Lovely indeed. Kate is beautiful, graceful, so smart and knowledgeable. Great tribute to a genius.
Truly beautiful words for the best ever. I saw him playing when I was a kid and since that day I knew that he is the greatest of all Times! RIP GOAT
Lovely speech by Kate, she probably didn’t write it, but still executed it perfectly. Damn near shed a tear
it shoulda ended with "he lives now...only in my memories".
She probably didn’t because it has to appeal to Americans so CBS wrote it (a bit cheesy) - she would say it much better. In Spanish as well.
the best there ever was..... only can be compared with michael jordan... no one else!
@@crokkadoodledoo9956 he means on his greatness

You should be so proud of yourself for delivering one of the best television tributes to Diego that I think I have ever heard. Well done Kate.
no social media, no internet.... you needed big video player to play a recorded video... and yet HIS skill is out of this world.. pure talent and passion
diego maradona was the best football player in history... no one touches him... no one even gets close.. with him you win... with him you had a leader... ice in blood

Kate Abdo is a real one!
Respect!
There never was, never is , never will be anyone like him. Nowhere near. And you can keep your stats and stick them where it never shines. Even the Gold World Cup trophy should read on the Winners …..1986- Maradona.
You are absolutely right
The GOAT = Diego Maradona................... Charismatic............... Magnetism............. Beautiful to watch.......... Exciting...........Enormous skill........ learned his skill playing street football all day and all night
Era el futbol natural, sin forzar nada. Como la brisa del mar, como la nieve de las montañas y como los vientos de los bosques.. era arte en una pelota de futbol❤
Palavras bonitas!! Concordo 100%
It was for me as if he was doing the tango with the ball. He played with a rhythm, that's why I love watching him play. He caressed the ball, stroking the ball, combined with his power and blistering acceleration. Beautiful..
you came to watch football just because of diego maradona... was not like now... ronaldo is good but he does not have total control over the field... and messi just lack confidence and too nervous and just not as good as diego
diego had ice flowing though blood while playing... very unique player and character and ofc the absolute best ever... can only be compared with michael jordan
Ironically he was doing it with an adidas tango.
That was a great and honest tribute. Acknowledge his greatness but don't shy away from the reality of his legacy.
Legend never die!! He will be always with us.
Wow Kate, your tribute to Maradona is absolutly outstanding. Diego will be proud of your respect, love and profesionalism!
Kate, that’s a stunning tribute, so so beautiful, yet to see that brilliance, absolutely unbelievable artistry and mastery of the ball, the world will never see this brilliance, greatest player for sure, there was divinity in him, god was playing football through him, hence there is no one like him, he is the greatest IMO.
Absolutely true, what you said
Wow... the rivalship between England and Argentina is historical. But seeing this kind of tribute and the emotions of each on of them... so moving. Thank you from Argentina. We will miss him for ever. Grande Pelu
Little devil, magician, god, you had it all, good and bad, gave away the good, left the bad to yourself. Thank you for the wonderful memories, after all that's what you left for us. Up in heaven I know God’s is your biggest fan. THANK YOU.🥲

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE I EVER HEARD. WELL DONE..
I've been alive for all the world cups since the one in Mexico 1970' and just barely born after the England one in 66'. I can safely say I've not seen a personality so spectacular and memorable, like Diego. He had it all. What a rollercoaster ride of a life he lived.
D10S just sucked you in every time you watched him play...Messi is the greatest player in this world forever only because D10S was not of this world he was from a place far far away...RIP my brother xxx
Exactly….Messi is amazing but when you look at the bigger picture and especially the ones who grew up with him we can’t deny that Diego is another level…..and what made him even more special was that he was one of us….he belonged to the people and that made him larger than life amongst the football fans all around the world
When Diego passed evenn the ⚽ cried.

No other players that ever kicked a ball could’ve done what Diego done for Napoli and Argentina in the ‘80’S .At a time when in Italy the defending was phenomenal, every coach trained their team to win 1-0 , Diego was phenomenal, Messi and Diego pure Genius, thanks for the Magic Diego
Spot on
Messi or Cristiano would never do what Diego did and indeed in the toughest competition in the world at that time with all the best players.
He won against the corrupt teams from the north….and that’s why he’s the greatest bar none
Ronaldo is not in the conversation regarding Diego Maradona , no where near but Leo Messi is.
Two natural Geniuses simple as that.
There are differences though.
Leo of course is a better professional in terms of longevity and his goals.
Diego all things considered , cocaine and women and all in between, is a phenomenon on the field and so charismatic off it.
His will to win was unmatched with so much ability combined was unstoppable at Napoli and in Mexico ‘86 .Haven’t ever seen one man totally dominate a WC like Diego , Messi was incredible in Qatar no doubt but Diego was different class then
Kate Abdo looking fire 🔥🔥
THE KING OF FUTBOL
Beautiful words for a lost Legend #Maradona
Maradona is the number ONE
He scores the most controversial goal in world cup history, followed by the greatest goal in world cup history, His love for the game was unmatched, I dont thiknk any footballer in history had the touch, the command over the ball as he did, He played the classic #10, an attacking midfielder, he came deeper to recieve the ball to create, BUT the seperation in my view from any other player is that not only was he the best midfielder on the field at any given time, but he was the best striker, the best scorer, who in history can you REALLY say this about?
What a great tribute!!!
The undisputed GOAT
Agreed, no match for Kate.
Pele, 3 world cups, without the hand of god.
@@manayconstruction5861 all but played when football had no crossbar

An artist of football Maestro RIP
Watching him play the 86 World Cup on TV as a kid made me so inspired. Diego Maradona made me love the game of football and also got me to play the game. I still remember when I played I would say Maradona, Maradona and Maradona scored a goal, Gooooooooooal! Maradona! Thank you Maradona. Thank you.

What a beautiful tribute one of the greatest footballers of all time, perhaps the greatest... The man was a genius... At a time when the game was physical but amazing, their was simply no stopping Maradona..Yip, excellent.
The famous Uruguayan poet Eduardo Galeano once said; "Maradona is one of the most humans Gods", so he was punished, and at the same time, forgiven by his fans. Wherever he is, R.I.P. Pelusa.
He inspired my generation as A 16 year old in 1986 and my first major football tournament in my home country every kid wanted to be Maradona he was who every kid dreamt of being...what a player...
For me and its got me into a lot of discussions, ending with what does a woman know about football , HE WAS THE GREATEST MAN TO EVER WEAR A PAIR OF FOOTBALL BOOTS HE LEAVES EVERYONE IN HIS SHADOW RIP 🙏 FOREVER LOVED AND MISSED JACKIE ENGLAND 🇬🇧
Somehow the UCL anthem at the end of a tribute for Maradona hits harder than usual...

He is one of those player that can change things for any team…a great. He made me an Argentina’s Fan.
Just stunning
Hearing another legend, rough tough player, like Matthaus, now admit that Diego toyed, with all of them greats, of that era... just tells you the level of greatness of Maradona in the game of football.. RIP Diego
If anyone hasn't seen the full clip of the warm-up yet, search RUclips for "Maradona Live is Life". He's actually listening to the music and dancing/juggling the ball to the beat. He got such perfect control of the ball he hardly has to pay any attention to it.
he understand and know how to answer ❤❤
This lady is awesome, very chilled and coherent and marvelous presence impressed.
This lady's words are powerful. Wonderful tribute
No player has ever caused so many different emotions every time he stepped in a field or touched a ball wherever he was everything he won, he won as an underdog , with a modest team , that just happened to have him, and that was all that was needed, and a decent group of players that understood his unique ability to define the fate of a play, a game, a championship..None of his teammates at Napoli or Argentina were world class until 1994, batistuta, Ortega, simione. Every other team he played in was just a group of friends that believe on la magia de Diego.. people look at Messi and forget or don’t know that he was brought into a Barcelona team that had won world cups and euro cups from sub 17 categories and up to sub 21..Iniesta xavi, buskers and several others, and then Messi, ronaldino, Luis Suarez, deco, Eto, Tierry Henry, so at a team that had already won world cups and euro cups several times they added all these players and they still lost some leagues, champions and cosas del Rey..Diego won everything with a group of friends…let’s not forget that the referee at 1990 World Cup gave Germany a penalty that decided the winner. That referee Codezal from Mexico, was never allowed to work again, think of big of the give away he gifted to the Germans…Some consider that it had to do with Diego being a rebel, always reluctant to be part of the corruption surrounding FIFA, which he always denounced. Probably one of the reasons why Messi is so quiet and introverted…Diego was just the best..unapologetic, rebel, controversial, but just the best..
Diego Maradona is the best for all Time ❤ RIP great légend
His legacy will be eternal. A beautiful tribute from Kate Abdo.
