I met a guy in Northern Minnesota that mounted a real train horn on the roof of his truck. You could hear it from miles away cuz it was a real train horn!!
I have a 2010 Escalade ESV with the wussiest horn I have ever heard on a truck, let alone an Escalade. Can't wait to get this horn hooked up! Thanks for the tutorial, especially the affect it had on a driver who fell asleep at the wheel. That was priceless!!!
I already have the second battery in that tray. I also like the triple diesel locomotive horn kit for mine. I installed the air tank just ahead of the lower radiator support just behind the front bumper. The compressor got mounted in another location down on the frame.
yep. I was thinking of getting this horn but his video convinced me not to. It did not sound any louder that a lot of stock horns. I currently have a Conductor's Special train horn kit from HornBlasters on my old truck which I have to sell. But THAT is a very loud horn! I highly recommend them.
I think that both the regular horn and the train horn maxed out the microphone that was used in this video. (I know there’s a better word but it’s something like that where it won’t sound as loud in real life.) Try taking a video of fireworks and you’ll notice they don’t really blow out your phone speakers when playing them back.
@@brianfeuerman1732 You're correct. The speakers on your computer can't recreate what it actually sounds like and the recording probably doesn't capture the true sound.
I had truck horns on my 4wd. blue slip for my 4wd for a safety check and did not pass rego because I had truck horns hooked up to it. because I didn't have a separate button on it.
If you wait 10 more seconds after the light turns green it will turn a little bit more Green. That's why so many people are still sitting there after the light turns green. Meanwhile some people are ok with the first shade of green and are ready to go. Since they were already waiting when the light was red
Yes. You can even use existing wiring and have the factory horn button control this air horn. *Check local laws first. Some areas require a quieter "city horn" in addition to an air horn.
roadragecustoms actually I was looking to take out the cigarette lighter and put a button, using the wires for the lighter and keep my factory horn as is. Thanks man.
roadragecustoms i ended up calling the company and they said they themselves dont make mounts for it that id have to buy the $500 version 😭 lol so looks like ill be making my own
AN not a silly question at all. Yes. The water does need to be drained periodically. This kit includes a drain valve that is placed in the bottom of the tank. It is accessible without removing any parts, but it is a tight squeeze to reach it.
I like it this set up ,good for me to learn you guys not do mickey mouse like me so now just i tried to do good job on my one ,i buy 26" and 29" hadley combination sound lower
Dylan Walsh Yes. It is possible to overload the battery. I wouldn't wire a compressor to run without the engine running. I think there might be something missing from your second question. I'm unsure of what you are asking, but I wouldn't put a light bar switch on top of the battery.
roadragecustoms mine isn’t weather sealed and they say it should stay free of debris. I have my horn blaster tank and compressor where yours is as well. Glad to know your compressor held up under the hood even with the heat from the engine
No. These are specifically designed for this model of Chevy truck. Kleinn does make universal (custom) fit horn kits that will fit anything if you know what you're doing.
Kleinn horns are WAY over priced for what you get.... 560 bucks ?

Exactly! The aftermarket horn he installed didn't even sound that much better or that much louder compared to the stock horn. My decision is to go with the Nathan K6.
Trains have three horns on them. And sorry to say but those just sound like a horn off a real truck. Maybe drive something other than a Chevy and you wouldn’t have to waste money on air horns. Blow them at me and I would drag you out of that truck. But good instructional video.
Some young guy in the UK put a really loud horn on his 4x4, loved making people jump at crossings... he ended up getting pulled out of his vehicle and re-educated with the business end of a steel-toecapped boot for frightening someones elderly mother. Now, I don't agree with violence ... but if some idiot catches me on a migraine day with a train horn, I WILL destroy them and claim involuntary action : ) There's a point at which 'effective' becomes 'damaging'. The horn is to let other road users know you're there - not to vent anger or force compliance with your schedule. Harassing other motorists causes accidents and it's just obnoxious and antisocial beyond a certain threshold... not to mention harmful to pedestrians hearing. I have autism... harass me and I'm going to have my ears covered for 10 minutes and you ain't going nowhere. Not because it takes me 10 minutes to recover, but because it credibly 'might'... and so I can! Your trip just ended - come assault me further for my vehicle cam and I'll have that nice car off you in court. Some people don't put up with this shit.

Probably one of the most complete instructional vids I have seen in a while. Great job!

What a great professional video! Awesome work!

Yes. This truck now has an additional brass tee with a female quick connect fitting. It is often used to air up tires.
New horn sounds a bit weak no?

Wish you had a diagram showing how to wire the switch. Thanks for the vid
Thanks for in instructions. Instead of drilling a hole in the dash of my 2018 GMC, can I get a horn button to fit in place of the cigarette lighter?

You said you had the emergency brake on but later in your video you put it on with your hand LOL
Where Can i find the brackets for the compressor and the horns? My kit didnt come with any
You may have ordered a universal kit. You have to order the vehicle-specific kit to get the brackets or make your own.

Silly question but does the water need to be drained from the tank at some point like a standard compressor?? Just curious...
AN not a silly question at all. Yes. The water does need to be drained periodically. This kit includes a drain valve that is placed in the bottom of the tank. It is accessible without removing any parts, but it is a tight squeeze to reach it.
@@roadragecustoms Question will the air tank always have air in it and fill up automatically upon using the air horn?
The pressure switch in the kit turns the compressor on when the pressure is low and off when the pressure is high enough if the key is on.
The term “TRAIN HORN” is being used very loosely, today. Buy a Nathan or Leslie
? $2K to $4K ? Really? For a street vehicle?
what the price for the whole thing tank , compressor , and horns

LOL! Love the ending!
Wild just watch video on a guy install a more friendly horn ✌️
At 8:24 you mention only wire left is switched power for the relay. Do you mean for the pressure switch? You already powered the relay, correct?
By the way, AWESOME walk through.
Now does the air compressor automatically turn on every time the vehicle is turned on and then the button is just to activate the horn
@roadragecustoms
The compressor will only come on when the key is on and the tank pressure is too low.
Why my horn dont sound when compressor have 125 psi and when goes below 100 psi work ...can someone help me with the problem ...thanks

how much for this ?

Is it possible to over load the battery ? What if u a light bar switch going on top of the battery ? & I want one this horn
Dylan Walsh Yes. It is possible to overload the battery. I wouldn't wire a compressor to run without the engine running. I think there might be something missing from your second question. I'm unsure of what you are asking, but I wouldn't put a light bar switch on top of the battery.

Goos horn 📯
Is very well on the morning traffic 😂😂😂
How would you wire it using the factory horn wire?
00TreadStone factory horn wire is just 12v, gonna need more power
What about a cruise liner (ship) horn? That would definitely scare the s out of anyone,
So where did you put your 2nd battery?
This was a gas truck. It only had one battery from the factory.
at 1:50 what kind liquid or gasket were you using on the thread fitting?
That is thread sealant that comes with the kit. It's similar to Loctite.
Can gasket makero do it?
RTV gasket maker would work, but Teflon tape or pipe dope would be best.
Its purple Loctite 30-50 in LBS locking torque.
How long he your compressor held up with it being under the hood?
Also how easy it it to drain your tank?
The drain is a little tricky to get to. The compressor is still good. It outlasted the truck.
roadragecustoms very nice. Is that compressor weather sealed?
I wouldn't go deep water fording with it, but it held up to normal, underhood conditions.
roadragecustoms mine isn’t weather sealed and they say it should stay free of debris. I have my horn blaster tank and compressor where yours is as well. Glad to know your compressor held up under the hood even with the heat from the engine
I need a train horn on my Prius C

Is that truck on strut suspension?????
Niko Barnes, yes. Chevy & GMC have been using struts on the front of 1500 trucks since 2007. Ford & Dodge do it too.

Not sure on tank size, maybe 1.5 or 2.

THE EXPERT he didn’t remove the battery... NNBS GM 1/2 tons have a spare battery tray on driver side
So don't buy one. And no, "THE EXPERT," he did not remove the battery. The only thing you appear to be an expert in is lying.

You wouldn't do shit boomer, shut up and complain about millennials somewhere.
Actually it depends on what type of locomotive horn you're using. I prefer the old Leslie air horns from back in the 50's.
I guess you could say other rigs blow already, with a Chevy it's much harder to get them to blow
sounding friendly would be a huge mistake i guess?
