When sasha's dad told her " yer all I hoped for" I hit the biggest AWWW ever!! lol Yes girl. One of the most beautiful things right there. Make your parents proud. I was really glad for this episode. Showed you shes more than just the girl that cracks up jokes & likes to eat all the time. Thats why i loved season 2 so much, really shed light on the side characters.

Lalisa T yes. A lot of these side characters, like these guys stated, must be important later on. Spot on. I have seen people say this season was filler. Well for one it follows the manga..unless ur watching it blind like me without any prior knowledge. Two. Character development/growth/backstory was necessary. I think people expect a big ass battle btwn Titans every episode lol. That's not how it works. I like how they don't rush things either. This season was short buts it ok. Hopefully S3 has a little more. In conclusion both seasons are awesome. Can't wait for more. Im thinking about getting a poster for my room since I love this show so much:D
Perfectly said, I agree! It actually frustrates me when those people call this season filler or slow/boring. AoT may be about titans but that's just one of the many aspects of the show. The characters and story also matter as well. Makes me a bit worried about how people will react to S3 if all they care for is the titan action :\

That axe is not like their blades. their blades are made of iron bamboo. it was explained in a spin off manga chapter. iron bamboo has a special things that make is suitable to cut titans flesh.
Plus the fact that an axe can’t slice out a section of their nape the way two blades can.

They really emphasize certain things on purpose. They purposely showed Connie's eyes up close so you could see that the Titan in the house had the same eyes. Also, the one Sasha stabbed was Connie's father :(

Japanese has an equivalent of a "southern" accent called Kansai-ben (Kansai is the region where they generally speak it). It's generally considered to be a rural/country area, compared to the modernized/citylike areas outside of it. There are definitely modern cities in the Kansai region (just like there are cities in the South, like Dallas, Atlanta, New Orleans, etc.), but the accent (and a bunch of stereotypes) still come out of that region. Kansai is basically the South of Japan.
I had already started to realise the answer to this question at this point after we saw that Titan. It only made the situation all the more complicated and difficult.

Sasha supposed to die brutally in this episode but good job to Isayama's editor. When the editor saw the presented storyboard, he/she cried in the bathroom. When Isayama know about this, he decided to let Sasha live
The axe wasn't working because it isn't like their swords that are designed to kill titans.
Glad you included the Sasha, Ymir and Krista scene (most leave this scene out) since it showed such a great clash of ideologies. On one end, you have Ymir telling Sasha to just be proud of who she really is and on the other end, you have Krista saying that Sasha can choose to be whoever she wants to be because that is her choice.
Also, someone already said this but Sasha WAS supposed to die here. She was supposed to circle back to see if there were anymore survivors, and that was going to be her last stand as well.
