the Neutron uses up to 750mA, which is a bit too much for a single rail on the rackbrute. The Rackbrute can handle around 640mA if you take into account the 20% margin as recommended by Arturia.
That was great! I really like being able to see what you are doing. I have a MiniBrute 2S but am just a home hobbyist dilettante so I definitely like watching and hearing at the same time. Thanks!
great track but why did you plug the neutron into an expensive ass modular rack? The unit has a really nice enclosure to begin with and you could use all that space of nifty modules
It just makes for such a nice pairing with the Minibrute! Especially because you can fold it down and carry the whole system around. I got the 3U version because I was uncertain, and now I'm really considering getting the 6U after I fill up the current rack
Inhad the same idea (pairing it with neutron). Indeed I own both, but have them standing side by side. Really a cool duo. Sharing LFOs for instance is very nice. Or even boosting the oscillators of the minibrute with the ones from the neutron via external in. One can do awesome things.
That’s nice man! I have these two synths also, they work well together don’t they… I just wish I’d bought the DrumBrute Impact instead of the original because I cannot stand the sound of the hi-hats on it and it’s massive! Excellent interplay between the oscillators of the synths on this sir, new sub for thee here. Peace ✌️
@@Lhurgoyf2Kyu Thanks for the heads up, I’ve just checked and it would appear there’s no issue with my unit… All the other sounds are fine but, as I said, I hate the hats. I generally take separate outs and eq the offending frequencies but, what’s the old saying - “you can’t make a silk purse out of a pig’s ear”… Thankfully, I now have other options since buying it so I can live with it.
Yeah man! Oscillator 2 on the neutron is being routed into the Minibrute 2S's external input, so I can control it with both the 2S filter, and the neutron. (It's tuned to the root of the chord is why I chose that oscillator) At the beginning, that is the only oscillator you can hear, and it's set to the "tone mod" waveform, in which varying the pulse width makes absolutely disgusting sounds. I morph it over to the saw wave later, as it's being used both as a part of the chords, and for that 16th note line; same oscillator, different filters. The tone mod (literally what the neutron manual says this waveform is called), and pulse wave sound great on their own, but in the context of stacking notes together, they sound out of place. Aside from that, I just have the 2S's random smooth LFO running into the neutron's frequency modulation input.
Hi mate, good video. I'm thinking of buying the minibrute keyboard along with the seperate module. I have the Neutron already. Can you tell me, was it easy to fit the Neutron into that module? I'm wondering if it fit inside without having to remove the end cheeks as that's the only unit going into the module.
Hey man, firstly the /Neutron/ is the module you're trying to fit into the Rackbrute. But it was a breeze to disassemble and reassemble, it just has some screws to undo along the top and you can take the module out. The Neutron case will stay perfectly intact, and you'll want to store it someplace it won't collect dust. The Neutron should have come with a second power cable as well that you'll need to plug it into the rack.
@@RickHowell Ok my brother, Thank You for the response. I'll take a look in the Neutron box for the lead. I may have missed it. Really love your combination of the 2. Thanks brother.👌
How was the Routing to set the Connection of These 2 up to create this 3 voice synth voice? When the third deep dub voice came in, I thought It came drin the minibrute 2s. And then later I hear other voices coming in from the minibrute. Just amazing but im very interested in the Patch Setup of this 😊 oh and what cables are you using to get the 4 Individual Outputs of your drumbrute impact into your Interface (I didnt find any fitting 3.5 to 6.3 mono cables)
For this video, the deep sub is a software instrument I'm routing the neutron and the minibrute into the same input, and routing my drumbrute into the other input of my two input interface haha. No individual channels for those. (Synths in one channel, Drums in the other channel) It's a very crude setup I have, but it gets the job done
Beautiful sounds and nicely arranged. I’ve just got a Minibrute 2s a few days ago and loving it, a 6U RackBrute is on its way and so I’m searching for what would be essential and interesting modules to complement the 2s. My other piece of hardware is a Stylophone 350S that I’ve had since a 10year old, in fact I have two now and want to incorporate them with the set up. Anyone with advice and suggestions out there, I’d much appreciate it. P E A C E ; )
I have one two and have some filters (WASP and SEM from Doepfer), digital oscillators (brains from Berhinger) and effects (from tiptop audio). It complements well the Minibrute. I have found that the Minibrute have problem with root note on CV keyboard out. It outputs two or three octaves higher on other synth. I am disappointed by that.
@@ClaudePN Thanks very much for the info, I’ll have a look at your suggestions. I had been looking at the Moog ‘trio’ gear and Love the sounds, especially the Subharmonican. Been finding good drum/percussive sounds on the Minibrute but need more control with a module(+ BeatStep pro) or separate drum machine. Have you had any advice about the CV out octave problem.? I looked at the Arturia forum and there seems to be a lot of questions with a thousand plus views but with very few replies. P E A C E : )
@@FUNKINETIK I have give up on using keyboard out of the Minibrute because if you change the octave in the software, it changes it for the internal sequencer too. I have a Beringher crave and it accepts midi input and the midi output of Minibrute is accurate. So I use that to send the cv out of the crave to an synth module in my modular. It will try to change the octave of the track 3 or 4 of the Minibrute to see if it works better that way. For an affordable analog drum machine, I can recommend you the Arturia drumbrute impact. It sounds good and the sequencer is similar. For the same price, you have the Roland TR 6S with many of classical Roland drum machines and sample too.
The interesting thing about this patch, is that I have three* oscillators all tuned to different chord tones, and controlled by the same sequencer. I'm just routing the lowest note in the chord to a different filter so they sound independent
@@PandaWithThineGuns I'm actually planning on doing a video review of that synth in a little bit, but basically it is very 'samey.' It does have sync in and outs which work well with modular and midi systems. The outs are line level, so you'd need a preamp to send it into a eurorack system.
I bought the case so I could put more modules inside. At that point in time however, I only had the neutron and wanted to try using it in the then new case. The Neutron is currently in the original case
Hey man, Edison is just recording my synthesizers. I'm running the synths into the Focusrite audio interface which lets me split the inputs into two different mixer tracks in FL Studio, one for the drums and one for the melodic voices. Both of those mixer channels then have their own instance of Edison which is what we see on screen.
