So Refined Storage, but more expensive and more powerful. Plus I kinda like how it still leaves a reason to have several blocks of ports all filled with disks(because of item type limit). One annoying thing I had in RS was that I just get one 8-port, plug in two 64k disks - and that's basically all the setup. And not like it's even any expensive. It's convenient, but it's not impreesive
@@Mondays3 It has very few benefits, the main one is, no auto crafting, this is what puts me off it, if mekansim got an addon or update for a QIO crafter, i would immediatly switch to QIO
This has a lot of potential, its a very early stages system, but maybe with Mekanism V11 they will get it more like RS/AE2. It laks some basic things, like autocrafting integration, fluid management and some other things too.
Autocrafting is a big one. Both RS and AE2 can do it, and if you need to craft a lot of stuff there is no point in going to QIO if you have to do it all by hand.
This is late, but is there anyway for it to interact with storage containers without pulling items into the drives? I have a wall of drawers but I want to keep the items in the drawers while still being able to access the drawers, like AE2?
qio seems to be a more expensive, but better, version of ae2 / refined storage, although refined storage does not have the item type limit and its cross-dimensional (which implies that it has infinite range)
@@Mondays3 Probably because it is insane that a mod maker would make a storage system to be such a late game thing. By the time QIO is available, you already have a system in place and any possible perks are over shadowed by the work to transfer from another system.
It’s simpler than an AE2 system and there is auto crafting in mekanism. I would say for simplicity go with mekanism but if you want mass auto crafting and complex systems for for AE2 or refined storage
Off the top of my head you could have an exporter to a chest that is filtered with the same items as a specific craft in a formulaic assemblicator. The take the items from that chest into the assemblicator and suck it out to another chest that has an importer attached to it. This isn't a very efficient way of doing it and it would require a whole new set up per auto craft but it will work. If you want mass auto crafting at any point I'd recommend using refined storage or AE2
Omg I love your tutorials thank you so much!! I have learned so much about mekanism! I think it would be pretty cool if someone built a massive mekanism factory.l for showcase. I’m always looking for ideas. Though I am working on one myself.
Sucks it doesn't really have any Auto crafters like Refined Storage does. I guess you could use that redstone signal thing to setup a make shift auto craft system, but I would rather have one where I can see the craftable item in the system and tell it to craft X number of them. I guess I could also setup a Refined system that is JUST for crafting and then export the items to the QIO when done. but still make shift.
Kinda sucks this is locked behind a fission reactor. It's kindof weird that a ton of the content in this mod is locked behind the fission reactor, which can fuck your world up if you don't know what you're doing, like me.
"Fuck up your world" is quite an overstatement, my friend :D For it to not have any major consequences, it's enough to just not have bed in like 94-ish block radius from your reactor. All reactor does is spawns a 94 meter radius field of radiation, that slowly dissipates over time. I built my fission reactor setup in a big cave on the level where stone and deepslate meet. It had blown up twice. Not even once I cared too much lol. I just swapped my gear for hazmat, restored the reactor, fixed the issue that caused it to explode, waited for reactor to repair, then just turned it back on and went away. After several hours radiation is gone and you don't even need a hazmat near it anymore

massive respect to u brother, keep up the good work ur doing
Thank you for your support!
I have been using refined storage for a while, and it's going to be tough getting used to this instead. It is very neat, though.
I'd choose refined storage over QIO any day
@@Mondays3 Right!? I love Mekanism but for storage I always go to my first love, Refined Storage...lol
@@LordSmyrnian i love RS's simplicity, but.... AE2 is more to the autocrafting side while RS is my main system yk
It's a bit late but is it possible to use an ME Interface from AE2 to consider the QIO system as part of a ME network ?
Potentially if you use the external storage pipe thing but I doubt it. I have never tried it though so give it a go
I'm playing 1.19.2 with AE2, storage bus can connect with QIO. Don't know about RS.
not going to lie that actually scared the hell out of me lol 10:36

So glad I could help you with this mod. It is one of my favourites. One day I wish to build a mega base using it too!
can you have multiple driver array and link them or you cant?
just wondering if anyone has teied using reborn storage crafting multiblocks with QIO drives to get us autocrafting
Wish it had integrated crafting grid
Is there anyway I can do auto crafting with this like that of rs
Yes it does. Using the Formulaic Assemblicator. Think of this a crafter
Is there not a crafting system in this storage system. Like refined storage in valhelsia 3.
There is a separate machine that can be used for autocrafting but not like a crafting terminal where you can make things within the interface.
Is the qio exclusive to some version of mekanism that isn't in the 1.12.2? it doesn't appear in my JEI
I believe this was only introduced at 1.16.5

why the hell is there that loud jumpscare at 10 and a half minutes in
Because of bad editing xD
14:49 I don’t know why I would ever need this seems like this allows me to operate on creative mode so
People play the game for that long to need it. I probably would never need it either xD
I need it

I guess it's just Refined Storage but pricier, ain't it?
Glad you enjoyed and I would still chose refined storage or AE2 any day
Portable grid with no limit in range is huge +
But lack of crafting grid and auto crafting makes it less valuable than rs ae2
12:33 so what we could do is set this up on a minor
