So awesome to see someone else get one of these. Really rare. This was the second panel I ever got, from a server room at my dad's work. It was super cool. was never ever able to get any manuals or programming info which was sad. Lost the whole thing when my basement flooded a year or 2 ago 😢
Really sorry to hear that. There is one (sans cabinet) on eBay right now, but it's $600. There's another for $560 (search Thorn Kidde panel system), but it's alarm only.
Your timing is impeccable, I ran into one of these panels at an abandoned power plant yesterday. Scrappers sadly got to it long ago, but neat to see one in action.
@@VintageVibratone I might be salvaging some vintage fire alarm hardware from my dad's abandoned middle school in Akron. That building may be demolished sometime this year. I also got expelled from STVM because I pulled the fire alarm to skip an English test.
I got expelled from STVM in Akron because I pulled the fire alarm to skip an English test. I actually pulled over fire alarm station in the stairway to the girls locker room because that area has no camera and I also had some perverse pleasure while doing it.
@@Fahrenheit4051 It was a fire alarm I think. I got a pic of it, it had a simplex 2903 above it. It had an ansul system for the kitchen tied to it but that's all supression wise.
@@alexandersalarms5380 Sounds like fire alarm to me. Interesting to see Simplex horn/strobes on a third-party system, but it wouldn't be the first time. I've seen a tiny system with a King-Fisher radio box as the FACP, two 2901-9838 horns, a 2903+2901-9806 combo in the middle, Simplex T-bars, System Sensor 2400 smokes, and disc heats.
@@Fahrenheit4051 It was loud as hell, Lol. yea I got it mixed with the ansul panel but it had I3 smokes, simplex pulls and horns... it also had a few PC2W's
Not a nice feature to have the pre-discharge alarm silenceable without actually aborting the countdown... Alarm sounds, silence button hit, everything comes to silence, and then suddenly the alarms come back with shots of suffocating gasses.
Very cool. I have seen these in the past and wanted to learn more about them. Thanks for the video
You're welcome!

Are you on the Fire Alarm Enthusiasts Facebook group? I have a copy of the manual.
@Fahrenheit4051 I am not, but just requested to join

Would you be able to salvage the cabinet?
@@Fahrenheit4051 I hadn’t brought any tools along, but I easily could. Still left a small 6” no-name brand bell too, it’s definitely a tempting save
@@VintageVibratone Hmm... I just told jtd321 about a Kidde Gemini on eBay without an enclosure. Maybe you could see if he wants it.
@@Fahrenheit4051 Sounds like a pretty good opportunity. Should clean up well once wiped down

I still service a number of these still in use. I am looking for a PDF of the service manual. Wondering if you have one? I have panel parts if needed.
Cool
Interesting

Gross.
@@Fahrenheit4051 yeah, I didn't care. That building looks like the Backrooms.

What size resistor does the nac circuit require?
I did an inspection of one of these at a church... But it was a red one and it said "THORN FIREQUEST"
Neat! Fire alarm or agent release?
