For the 33% trap players every year, esp. the high school trap players for equal recruiting opportunity, even waiting one more year is too much. My trapped kid started soccer when changed to BY, I wish he could back to his grade year team before he finishes his youth soccer.
Looks like this the open discussion for the public, they continue conversations behind closed doors after this. I am sure we will hear some more information later.
Please adjust to the Sept 1 - Aug 31 age band in America. Aligning US Soccer with school grades in American makes most sense. We can agree that model is different than other countries, but we must also admit the High School and College system in America drives the show and should be aligned with US Soccer.
Doesn't seem like they said much about it. At least no details. I have a 2010 8th grader so very curious on what his soccer team outlook will be next year.
To Professional Council, we need a unified ecosystem. Every year one professional sanctioned team folds or relocates in the lower pro leagues, meaning communities are eliminated and young kids no longer can cheer for their local pro team. Let’s grow the sport! Revise and reform Professional League Standards!
Disappointing slow in publicizing the results of the closed door meeting. The change in 2017 was nonsensical and highly disruptive, only made worse by reversing it now. For small clubs, it isolates kids held back with Aug and Sept birthdays, bs the scenario now where they have some classmates on their team
Every school don’t have the same cut off August 1st cut off would make my daughter play with the grade below her she would be an 8th grader playing with 7th graders .
Don't disrupt every single club team in the country and leave it as calendar year. There are many solutions to trapped players without disrupting all teams.
Birth year isn't working....it doesnt align with college. Just because it will be a personal inconvenience for you doesn't justify using the silly birth year. If your jid is good enough, they can play up. Easy solution. Cooe harder@michael88366
any news on youth age potential change?
What I'm waiting for
Nope. They will probably discuss it during the closed session.
@@imank8629 When is the closed session
Interesting topic, first time hearing about this. Where can I find more resources?
They sent an email saying they may change to school age year vs birth year@solomonm.2127

Ticket price reduction so any American can attend?
So when news?
Michigan youth soccer association sent an email stating no change this year but did not rule it out for 26/27
Saw the same post. Seems legitimate.
Can you share the post please? This is such a relieve 👏👏
Why would Michigan be the first notified?

Switch back to School Calendar Year and save the trapped players.
It already is calendar yr
@@crazyeazy41. School year then.
Not year of birth.
What are the cut off dates August 1st Sept 1st?

The proposed change is to grade/graduation year (academic year cut off not relevant) as opposed to birth year.

Teams don’t have to change. Unlike last time, every player has an option to play above age group. So no team is required to change.
@@owenamster9409 That's a cute dream that will not be the reality in a pay to play environment.
Why not? They disrupted everything in 2017, this is just fixing the mistake
