So if Rich Strike is your soul stallion then pray that he wins the Triple Crown not because hey winning the Triple Crown is hard a rare but because of the trainer and that fire that the trainer or owner of this horse had gone through and he deserves to know that he has a brighter future ahead of him so if you truly love and adore Rich Strike then with all your heart pray for him to be blessed with Intelligence, speed, stamina, endurance, strength, and energy to win this 2022 Triple Crown! The colt was trying repeatedly to take a chunk out of the lead pony. And you are talking a half ton horse here with testosterone poisoning on top of it. Left to their own devices horses like that bite and kick the daylights out of each other just sorting out their pecking order. I guarantee the rider on that lead pony didn't leave a dent in that colt and the colt obviously didn't notice it much because he kept right on savaging the pony. But no way did the guy on the lead pony have to allow that colt to bite the daylights out of his horse. Can't allow that to happen because the next step would be for the colt to start savaging other horses in a race, which would result in disqualification and potentially have the colt permanently ruled off from racing.

Horses have pressure points in their gums, while some horses need a chain across their gums others have it over their nose or under their chin. Each horse is different and each owner/trainer uses this device differently but with the same outcome. A calm horse. I never had to do anything except put the chain across one of our horses gums to calm him down. A different owner I worked for if the chain went over the nose the horse walked perfectly, if it went under the chin he knew that he was being used to stud.

Note the usage of a lip chain. This is a safety precaution. While there are those who believe that metal in a horse's mouth is unnecessary and likely to be painful, a lip chain causes the release of endorphins in a nervous horse, which calms him down. In the case of a young, high strung, and VERY strong stallion who is absolutely chock full of himself...and horse testosterone....this is a prudent precaution.
