“They have *Florida* ,why the heck do *we* need to quarantine?”
You know what, that’s a solid argument
Yeah, but the UK has Boris Johnson in charge, so..... kind of evens out.
Yep, not a native Floridian here but I've lived in the state since 2010. This place is ripe full of dip shts
Because unlike the rest of the US or even the world Covid has been on the decline for while now in Florida
Florida's numbers are low compared to many other states.

Connor isn't voluntarily torturing himself for once, what a surprise!
Fast foward to the 3 days subathon, where he (kinda) locked himself in a room to stream.
Wish I could be there with him to haunt his nightmares
It's not a love hotel, and Chris isn't there to share in the misery.
Well technically yes it’s voluntary because he chose to travel to and from the U.K. either way it sucks lmao
@@benoconnor3160 well, isn't it more involuntary, really? it's not like he chose the uk to be his country of origins, also the man hadn't visited his family in 2 years!
yes, it was his choice to visit and then return, a textbook example, but would that really be voluntary? sure, it isn't exactly involuntary either, but wouldn't anyone feel a need to visit one's family (if you had a pleasant one, and indeed have one left) after such a period of time? is that really voluntary? yeah, he chose to return under conditions to be quarantined (voluntary), but he didn't know he would have to stay +5h in an airport, only to be confined in a _poorly ventilated_ room, both of which I think you would agree wasn't voluntary or specified.
there's only so much a piece of paper can convey what you have to go through, which it prolly even didn't
yea, this is most likely a matter of bad timing, and as you said, sucks.
although safety procedures are a necessity, that isn't an excuse for treating them "like cattle" as he described it on trash taste.
After listening to the Trash Taste Quarantine episode and watching this, I can't help but think about Garnt's quarantine experience versus Connor's. It would have been hilarious if there was a insert of Garnt and Sydney in their big queen suite, classical music playing in the background and they are laughing at peasants . Then it immediately cuts back to Connor.
They can't blame me if I carefully and absent-mindedly lock myself out of the room. I was just following instructions.
I know right. I would be like I listened to instructions and here we are

There's a garden we can go to for some fresh air but masks MUST stay on. The food they give us is uhh... Well, lets just say I've chosen to buy almost all my meals from Lawsons. Anyway, glad to see you made it back to Japan Connor!

Imagine solitary confinement for life. No internet, no window with a crappy view of the city even, knowing you'll never get out alive. Honestly, I think if it comes to that convicts should have the chance to choose between solitary and death row.
72 hours is an alarmingly small time to keep people in hotel quarantine, they'll keep bringing in more cases and many more big infection waves especially as they start to re-open. I've done 14 days hotel quarantine here in Australia, and in lockdown for many months last year, and quite a bit this year where it's illegal to leave your property for anything but medical treatment, exercise or grocery shopping and had to be within 5km. I've also had to self-quarantine 2 times in my room, once for 7 days cause the hospital forgot to inform me of my COVID test result (but the QLD health department wouldn't let me leave quarantine conditions until I had the written proof of a negative). But at least by doing this my state has reported no deaths from COVID in the past 6 months, and only 7 since the start of the pandemic. If we get more than a few cases, say 5 or 6 in one day we'll send the state, or at least the city and the 100km radius area around it into full lockdown to stop it quickly
I kept sane with h#nt@i and anime btw - thats how you can make it through :P

Making people pay for their quarantine room is pretty shitty though, that should come out of he state's pocket, not the person's.

Aside from the bureaucracy, Japan's hotel quarantine seems pretty good. 3 days is nothing compared to the mandatory 14 days in many countries, some of which actually charge you for it (because unless its essential travel, its at your expense). The hotel room, whilst small, seems quite decent.
But it‘s based on luck, could be as small as a shoe box as well ;-)

I've been in a quarantine hotel last year when I came to austraia for uni, I was there for 14 days but the rules are a lot more loose compared to your experience, we even got a "social area" with a POOL (yes you can go swimming) for us travelers if we ever feel like we need some fresh air lol, all we have to do is call the front desk for reservation and a police will come and walk you there.
I also got two queen beds. I was by myself. imagine you're by yourself in a room with two huge beds. It's pretty weird.

I have been stuck in a quarantine room for 2weeks and I even saw some people online going hungry/ no food given to them but we had a fresh air that is as big as our room
love you videos
I deployed to Africa last year and spent when we got there we were locked in shipping crates with an a/c unit and bed with no WiFi for 72 hrs. So this seemed like luxury to me
"ive stayed in much worse" after seeing connor and chris's video... yeah this is miles better
Coming back from the UK to HK was an absolute nightmare. I went home twice, once for Christmas and another for Summer holidays. First, you would have to do a test at Heathrow before you boarded (you had to be at the airport at 6 since they may have delays), then they would but a tracking tag on your wrist (they didn't do this the second time) and give you a sandwich and some bottles of water because you would have to do another test at the HK airport because you weren't allowed to leave if you didn't have your results (we had to sit at a closed off section of the airport for 9 hours the first time, the second time was better, around 5 hours but still) then after you receive your results, then you go through customs get taken to your quarantine hotel. The second time was quite similar because you would have to line up at your respective queues according to which hotel you booked (which you pay for yourself) and then you would have to stay in your hotel room for 14 days straight (21 the second time). You would do 3 tests throughout the quarantine by officials every week. But they would still give you food outside the door and they would ring your doorbell notifying you the food is outside, for trash you get trash bags and you're allowed to leave the filled bags outside at 2 everyday, you were allowed to get things from your family/friends through the staff and you're allowed to get takeout so yeah I could get McDonalds :)
I did this for entry to Korea
Longest 2 weeks when it was happening but afterwards it all blurred to feel like one feverish night
totally disappointed, at no point in time you absent mindedly locked yourself out of the room as it was requested from you :(
So this is why Connor is so obsessed with hotels at the moment...
love you homie
Not gonna lie, this video is hilarious! I shouldn't have ignored it for these past few days x)
Connor is really out here making a 26 minute video from literally doing nothing, definitely impressive

People coming from America don't have to quarantine like this? Why is that?
Yeah meanwhile the US is the most trainwrecked country at the moment due to this.
I think part of it is because we have to have a vaccine before any sort of air travel, but I dont think that is the case for the UK(could very easily be wrong tho, didn't look it up).
The other option is due to the close relationship of the US and Japan, including many Japanese mega corporations having their international headquarters in the US.
The US doesn’t take kindly to anything that is done by force. We would probably have another civil war if we tried to do this.
@@RebelRhiannon its literally required to do the same thing in the US for anyone coming here internationally, including citizens. Lol.
