Hi hales. I watched your juki DX7 impressions and I have just purchased one I live in Qatar now so limited selection of machines but they did have the Dx7 for equivalent of £900. I have got to say I love it has been such a game changer having had a basic machine and button holes are a dream. Cannot tell you how many problems I have had in the past so thankyou for your review. It encouraged me to purchase x
Oh that’s great, I’m glad you found the video useful and it sounds like you bought it for a really good price. I hope you enjoy it, I’ve found mine so easy to use. Maybe I should be on commission!!😃
I bought the Juki exceed 300 series. It's basically the same machine without the bells and whistles for more than half the price. I love the quality of the box feeding system. My stitches look so much better than my brother machines. Worth every penny.
I was never overly impressed with the Brother stitches, I mean the one I had/have is ok but nothing special. The Juki is so much faster which I love and thought this time I’d get all the extras which I’ve never had on previous machines.
Wow! I have a Juki serger and I love it. My 20-year old Pfaff does a few of the things your Juki does, but that programmable foot pedal on the Juki is so cool. Also the lock stitches at the beginning and the end will be so efficient, take far less time. The hands-free features are just amazing after coming from a more mechanical machine. Mine will also do the pivot thing and I love that. It's going to be such a pleasure for you to sew now - nothing better than a new machine to restore your sew-jo. ❤️
I heard good things about older pfaffs, but not the modern ones so much. I’ve sewn mainly on computerised so don’t think I could go fully manual - I love being able to quickly press a button to flit between different settings. The pedal is going to be a game changer!
Looks amazing Hayley . I have only used Juki industrial sewing machines and they are so good . Very strong and sturdy. Wishing you lots of fun learning about all your machines features
I love a gadget which makes sewing easier or quicker. I love my vintage mechanical singer but I know I’ll be spending most of my time on my Juki. Needle down is a great option to have hands free
Ye so love a good gadget too! I guess with the needle down/presser foot up function you wouldn’t really need to use that on your sewing pedal. I will be interested to see which function you end up with on the foot pedal. Enjoy your new machine!
You are funny, I bet you are going to love it. I have never used a Juki either but I see lots of sewers use it. I love your machine, specially the presser foot pulling up to pivot.
Yay!! Glad you decided to get a new one, you definitely deserve a splurge!! It looks soo gorgeous!! Think I might have to have a closer gander at it online… 👀 😁 x
😁 I love a gadget or gizmo which gives me a shortcut when sewing! Glad I went with this as I was umming and arrring at all the different brands as there’s so many to choose from.
Hi Hales, That looks like a fab machine! You have got me itching for an upgrade now. I’m very interested to hear how you get on. I also struggle with the automatic button hole with my machine and the light isn’t bright enough, everything that you said about the old machine resonated with me! Enjoy your new machine.
If the part hadn’t broken on my Brother machine I wouldn’t have taken the plunge but I’m glad I did as it seems to have everyone want - time will tell but so good so far
Your new machine looks so good! I've only ever used old second hand machines, so buying a brand new one is daunting, there are so many brands to choose from. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with it xx
It all gets confusing with machines as everyone says they love their brand that they use, but I found having specific requirements for features or functions really helps to narrow down the options.
Oh how exciting. I knew just browsing was never going to happen. I had a big birthday last September and am after a new machine. Very interesting to see the Juki and it will be great seeing how you get on with it. I’ve just checked where my nearest stockist is and they also sell bernina machines. I’d like to spend no more than £1500 but am worried what will happen if I see a lovely bernina machine………
I know, that’s the trouble with looking at machines! The guy in the shop said Bernina are more geared towards quilters rather than dressmakers, so it depends what you need your machine to do. I’ve had low and mid range machines and I certainly won’t spend £8k on a machine but knew I needed to go higher up the scale than what I had to get the things I was missing. I went armed with a range of fabrics that I’ve used and were tricky for my Brother machine so I could compare.
I have the Haruka Juki, I love it, and looking to buy another much like you did. Now the foot pedal, I use backwards because I kept cutting the tread. I know it comes with the rubber but to stop it from accidentally from cutting but I wanted to use the cutter, so I use the cutter on my “toe” part and heal for sewing.
It’s great that the pedal can be programmed for different functions. I love my Juki and it’s so easy to use. I’m so pleased I bought the Juki as it’s faster than my Brother machine and I can easily flip between settings.
I’m not jealous. Not jealous at all 🤣. First time I’ve made myself watch all the adverts 🤪. So chuffed for you hon. It looks amazing. I want to upgrade my Brother machine in the next 12 months but like you I want to be able to try them all out first! x
🤣🤣 we’ll be eating rice and beans for the next month! It’s well worth trying them out and some machines are better at certain things like quilting or free motion embroidery. Everyone will tell you their brand is the best but tbh I was disappointed with the Brother and it was very meh but it got me through 2 lockdowns
Hi Hales just come back to watch this vlog again because I am going to buy a new machine. Now you’ve had the machine for a while was wondering what you think about your Juki DX7. Thanks!
Hi Kay, oh I absolutely love it. It’s so easy to use and things like turning the wheel to increase the stitch length is so much quicker. It’s fast, which I love and I’ve programmed my pedal (which was easy to do) to cut threads when I press the bottom part of it and it then raises the presser foot automatically. I could go on, I probably should do an update video and you’re the 2nd person to ask me about it. The manual is laid out so straight forward it’s easy to learn what the functions do - I still can’t get my head around my Brother manual. I don’t regret buying the DX7 at all and with it’s box feed you don’t need the IDT that Pfaff offer up. Hope that helps
Hi Hales! I found you today and watched your 2 videos about dx7. I read you tested various machines before using it.. I'm looking for a new machine and in doubt among dx7, bernette b77 and pfaff 710. May I ask the reasons you chose this one and not other famous brands? (in my case, I talk about Pfaff and Bernina/Bernette mainly..). Ohh! Other question: can you use generic presser foot such as for rolled hem or others not included in the machine and not sold by Juki? Thanks so much and keep posting! It is very interesting!
Hi Silvia thanks for commenting. To be honest I didn't take a close look at Bernina as they seemed to be more aimed at quilters (the sales guy confirmed this as well) and were more expensive to get similar options as what the Juki offered. I'd read lots about Pfaff, but as the Juki has the box feed system there was no need to go for the IDT foot but mainly I didn't want a coloured machine! I know that sounds strange, but I'd previously had a white and pink machine (bought for the functions), but never liked that it was coloured. I knew that most people who use industrial machines have Juki, so thought that was a good indicator the motor was powerful and reliable. I have used generic feet on previous machines, but I haven't tried them with the Juki as I haven't had any need to so can't give you a firm answer on that front I'm afraid. I hope that helps.
@@halesmoore thanks a lot for your reply! It did help! But in the end I chose the Bernina b475 as my dealer had a very good promotion and I caught the chance 💖 thanks again and keep it up, I'll follow your interesting videos 😊
I went to Franklin’s in Ipswich as they’re a Juki dealer. The guy (Nathan), was really helpful and not pushy - I was in there for over an hour being shown and having a go myself.
Hi Hayley!! Congratulations on your wonderful new Juki.. I’ve never sewed on one but looks like it has a lot of perks to it that would be nice to have on a machine.. Can’t wait to hear your review on it…. 💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵
I’m not sure if that’s an autocorrect on your typing or if cine thread is something I should know. I think most machines if not all can be used with a thread stand. It looks like there is an extra spool holder in the accessory pack but I haven’t tried it out yet
Looking forward to seeing your review once you’ve had a chance to get to know the machine. I’m currently “just looking” at new machines as my old Janome is not really coping anymore (to be fair, it’s 25 years old and has served me well). I have narrowed down to the Pfaff Ambition 630, the Brother 420 or the Juki DX7, but there really aren’t many reviews online. Given that my closest Juki dealer is at the other end of Australia, it’s not like I can just pop in and test one, so seeing videos like yours is incredibly helpful, so thank you! (I made sure to leave all the ads running to help you pay for it, lol)
😊 each brand will have its own strengths, which is what makes looking for a new machine so confusing. I have (or will have when it gets repaired) the Brother F420 which I think probably does more than I think but as I never had a demonstration on it I was relying on the manual and compared to the Juki it’s awful and not easy to read as there is so much text and there are pages and pages. I already love the Juki but need to properly put it through it’s paces.
I have had my Juki for six years, and it is the very best!
I'm so glad I got this machine (my husband talked me into getting the DX7 instead of the DX5). It sews so fast and I love the pedal!

Thanks Andrea, the speed of industrial machines would scare me! Hoping to get my sewjo fully back now!
Congrats on your new machine it looks fab! Love that you can program the foot pedal and it looks like it will be a great machine 👍
Thanks Michelle, yes the foot will be super helpful for me when I’m wanting to keep my hands on the fabric and when I’m feeling lazy to lift my arm🤣
Looks great, I’ve never really thought about a Juki. My old Bernini had the needle down function on the heel of the foot pedal which was fantastic

It’s the extra little things that this machine can do which makes it more enjoyable to sew on!
Congratulations! 😍 So many cool features! I love my Juki. The dx series is the step above my hzl series, so I bet you are going to really love it!
Compared to my Brother machine this is a big step up for me but I’ve heard good things about Juki machines.

Thanks I think this will last me a long time.
Congrats! That is awesome! I am so excited for you 😀
Thank you, it’s a real step up from my last machine😊
That’s a great machine! Congratulations 🍾
Thanks Carmen, I’m looking forward to sewing lots more clothes now!
If there’s one feature that will get me to buy a new machine, it’s the thread cutter. 😍
I have the thread cutter button on my Brother which was a real game changer, but having the function on the foot pedal is another level for me.
