Actually Reason of laying this project is people of kgf (Marikuppam) want Express trains to their area want to travel to chennai without going back to Bangarpet. Project was actually proposed as Marikuppam to Bisanatam but due to operational and feasibility studies by SWR they proposed it as Marikuppam to Kuppam this project was by Former Union Railway Minister K.H. Muniyappa. Finally Marikuppam to Kuppam New bg railway line was sanctioned in Railway Pink book of 2012 and this project is fully funded by Railways.😊
