I viewed the first video and saw the sportsmaster drives so the upgrades are 565 Hp and the 7" setback with the Integrated transom. The props used with the 540's would be a good starting point as the 565 's turn a little higher rpm. That would absorb some of the additional hp. What style and size props we're used with the 540's? Hope you are willing to share the technical details and the performance gains. Thanks.
@@FLpowerboatClub Thanks for responding to my inquiries. I have A customer with a 1993 Kevlar 38 Topgun with supercharged 502 (Chief engines?) with twin Holly 4bbl and standard XR drives turning 32 pitch Bravo 4 blades at about 52-5300 rpm. We think the speed is somewhere between 75-80 mph. A good friend has a 2002 47 Fountain with 3 original 575 SC Mercs and standard Bravo XR drives also spinning Bravo 4 blades repitched from original 32 p to 33 p by Frankie and Jimmy's in Ft Lauderdale. The owner has had the boat for over 10 years, bought it with about 60 hrs and presently has over 700 hr. The center engine has never been touched internally and runs great. The stbd and port engines have had valve jobs done years ago the stbd had a bad cam replaced when the valve job was done. The boat was rated at 93 mph when new with A 115 lb test driver and minimal fuel. Late last summer on a calm sunny day going to Gloucester, Ma from Boston with 2 aboard we hit 90 mph on GPS. High tide and no current. Gloucester is 28 miles from Boston and the closest source for 93 octane. Cape Ann Marina sells 93 for less than Boston based 87 octane and they have a good open air restaurant and a well stocked marine store. The Fountain lives on a hydrohoist near Boston and is scrupulously flushed and washed with tap water. The Topgun lives at a slip in salt water and gets hauled regularly for bottom cleaning.
Hey just wanted to say that I’ve absolutely loved this boat ever since you guys re did it back a couple years ago! I figured you were going to do a bigger engine then the 565 this time though that way you can run up at the front of the pack and not in the middle of the pack lol!! But hey at timestamp 4:15, is that a crack in the fiberglass right there by the corner and just above the chine or is it just a crack in the gel coat?! Just thought I would point that out in case you or no one else seen that. But keep up the amazing work with the boat, you and your guys are killing it!!! Oh and I was also going to ask you if Hurricane Ian messed up your plans for any future poker runs on the west coast? Cause I know you guys do the Ft. Myers run but I can’t think of any others off the top of my head in that area, thank you sir!
Super glad you still have the 1080/1130 in your care !!!
more of these build and maintenance videos please, it's awesome to see!
The its setup from mercury is incredible. Great video looking forward to seeing how much more performance your gonna get.
A massive wow from me👍👍👍😎🇬🇧
Love it!!
looking good Stu, thanks for sharing.
Thanks 👍
OMG > I would be excited myself just to have those 540's ...wow what a upgrade
Thank you for calling them "engines"
those techs are great, probably Mercury factory trained.. nice set up!
These project videos are the best 👍 Looking forward for more of these. Thank you Stu and greetings from Finland!
Love this stuff!!
Good job
So awsome 🔥
Love it
Big coins!
Wow, what a great video. The rigging process, and clean clean clean fit is cool to see...now is that a C C Launch next door getting goodies?
How many hours on the 540's?
Are you putting on the streamlined
lower units or the standard foot style.
What is your expected gain in performance.?
325 hours on the 540's
Lower units going to sportmaster shorty- 2 inches higher- ideal for the ITS set back
Sweeeet!

we used 28" pitch 4-blade Mercury bravo props, but now have upgraded to a Mercury raving 5-blade maximus prop- 28 pitch, and getting good results
