So after being there in person and going back looking at the footage…Last night was epic. There were a few mistakes on both sides, but both bands were eating. Energy, musicianship, and overall showmanship. Both bands had some highlight moments and I expect nothing less from the top two best bands in HBCU band culture.🔥🔥🔥

Also, I felt SU stayed safe and held back until the end when Jackson was already on the throttle. I’ve give the edge to Jackson but today will be the battle. Blood will be drawn on both sides.
Folks complaining about the boos. It's the biggest and best band rivalry going. It should be expected. If you've never marched into Mumford Stadium as the visiting band then you wouldn't fully understand. Crowd reaction is part of the rivalry.
Extremely proud of each band member's skill and musicianship; collectively and individually. Special shoutout to the freshmen for all of their hard work in becoming as good as the upperclassmen. Keep that same energy throughout your years in band and in academics. Musically the top 2 bands to ever do it and what an awesome privilege to have the top 2 dance lines to ever do it, front and center. Thank you A1Media for capturing this BOTB.
I really admire the Boom arrangers’ ability to reimagine songs and turn them into interesting arrangements that fit the personality of the band (King’s Affirmation and Can’t Be Friends). It’s even rubbing off on their student arrangers (Super Gremlin from the spring). It’s a unique talent to have.

The background commentary was better than the band battle it’s self lol 😂. From someone who likes both of these school and didn’t march at either or in any band at the collegiate level. I think the battle was pretty even. There were a quite a few head scratching moments from both band song selection wise. I do think the music was getting away from both bands at the top of the battle, but as the battle went on they got more into it and settled down. Good job both bands and I can’t wait to see what y’all in store tomorrow.

Serious question from 10:17 - 10:38 their is sound that sort of sounds like feedback from an amplifier or a big a$$ tuning fork🤣💀but it also sort of fits the arrangement. If that was instruments replicating that sound was it the tubas? OR did they have an electric guitar and amp set up hidden back there and someone played the sounds? DJ had the Mic on & the loopback caused the sound you heard, they were trying to get him to turn of off out of frame.
