That's absolutely brilliant! Not only the gear but you're presentation and voice-over is really clear. I've been wondering how to make a stepless adjustment mechanism for my espresso grinder and this fits the bill perfectly. I'll never need more than a few degrees rotation but a decent worm gear will really look the business, thank you!
Boy, that is an unusual question :) The gear reduction ratio of a worm gear set is determined by the number of teeth on the mating spur gear. About the smallest pitch diameter I can make easily is 2 inches, so maybe 4 teeth on the spur gear...........which gives a 4:1 reduction ratio. Thanks for the interesting questions!
