@golden_eldorado Nah, man. I dunno what’chu talkin’ bout. Simon Belmont is just supposed to look like that in order to look like he is holding the weapon in his hand in such a way, that you can only see it when he uses it, and yes, the NES version of CastleVania does not make his Sprite look much different.
He’s holding his weapon in the same stance as a Samurai, keeping it obscured behind his body until he whips it out and uses it on the enemy. Not much diffent to how it looks in other CastleVania games.

さすが実機盤はいいですね！しかも他のアーケードアーカイブス動画と比べ物にならんぐらいキレイ過ぎ。当時、この頃のコナミゲームは置いてあるゲーセンが近所になくてCDサントラばかり聴いてました。
Crazy how one can completely run out their time limit just as they defeat the boss and win.
スタジオアルタ裏の、スポーツランドだったかな、そこでしか見たこと無い...ファミコンでは名作でしたが、盛り上がることも無くしれーっと設置されていました。
BGM is still amzing...
