Definitely wanna get this figure, the deluxe price is what it is unfortunately. Lol. Saw does have alot of cool things going on with his outfit, my Target blows so hopefully someday I'll get him. Great review as always. 👍
Really appreciate the quality, clarity, and smoothness (?) of your reviews here on the channel guys :) saw really impressed me which is why despite the cost I still pre ordered him too
What a great figure, i love it.The detail and head sculpt are fantastic, surprisingly good articulation and love Saw's design,he looks so cool with the rest of the Rogue One crew and i personally think that this "deluxe" release is worth every penny, what a stellar figure.Thank you for the class review Nate
Just got this yesterday (through Pulse), and I think it is one of my favorites for the year, absolutely gorgeous. The price point is steep, but the figure does have some “heft” to it that makes it seem premium. The Cobb Vanth figure, however (which I also finally received this week), should have never been designated deluxe…he’s no different than the other Mandalorian figures with removable helmets, which are at the normal price point…
Hello Nate another great black series figure review. I also hate the deluxe figure price although I have to say the Saw figure does have quite a bit of paint but I wish we got more for the price. He is large and bulky and looks like he has some good sculpting. His breathing tube does look good and his accessories are painted so I'm not happy about the price but I have one on preorder. I'm glad Justin was able to get him for you. Looking forward to getting mine and I just got notified my Target exclusive Rough One figures have been shipped out. Hopefully have them for the Sunday stream. Thanks again for this figure review. Your friend Tom
Not sure if it’s just me but I love that your diorama reminds me of a 60s basement. Nice review Nate! My Saw is still on preorder. Can’t wait to complete my Rogue One line with a great looking figure
Guys, I want your advice. I really like the rotating base/platter you use to display the figures. I’ve looked and kitchen places to find one but never see what I’m looking for. Question: where can I find a nice, battery or solar powered one? Like the one you use? - William
Hey William! If you’d like here’s the link to the one that we use in our reviews amzn.to/3JydA9l It can either be plugged in or use batteries! Hope this helps! Thanks for watching! -Nate
If I see this guy in-store I’ll probably pull the trigger. Figure looks great actually. Wasn’t stoked when it was announced but they did a good job with this one.
Thanks for the review. I do think it’s time that the black series fan base accepts the fact that paint apps factor in significantly on an individual figures production cost and therefore it’s retail cost, and this has changed dramatically since the start of the line and even since the first deluxe figure was created a couple of years ago. when you look at a typical mainline figure now, it barely has any paint on it at all. It’s usually a couple dots of paint on a light up panel or a buckle, or a tiny bit of scratching on a helmet or something. Typically there is next to no paint at all besides the face printing paint. Rather, detail is increasingly created on figures with only sculpted texture in plain old colored plastic. Gone are the days of the extensive mainline figure paint apps like on the original orange line sandtrooper. I rarely hear any criticism for this from the community. It’s just accepted. compare Saw or Cobb Vanth to any recent mainline release and the difference in paint is night and day. In the case of saw, he also has more doodads and extra sculpted bits hanging on him than about any black series ever made. I think those things can and should be counted here as accessories. These pieces have material and production costs too, and cannot be overlooked when considering overall figure value. Quite honestly, my eye is drawn to this figure as soon as I look at my shelves. It’s just a beautiful action figure, as as you mention in this review, the articulation is quite impressive considering how bulky he is. Great engineering here as well. Sitting here today, I think this figure probably breaks into my top 10 black series figures all time.
Pretty great breakdown, Jhawk! I personally think Saw is more deserving of the deluxe price point than Cobb Vanth. I may even have to pick one up myself! I was initially going to pass. -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement at the end of the day I guess it’s just a matter of perspective. I mean, I find myself MUCH more frustrated by the lack of paint these days on standard figures even when they cost less, rather than the higher cost of deluxe figures which unquestionably have more paint on them. I suppose that means I’d be willing to pay deluxe prices for every figure if they came with that level of paint apps, rather than get another Bo Katan carrot top orange hairdo and orange nerf belt with little to no paint detail at all. (Just to use that figure as one example). But i also recognize that I ONLY collect back series and no other lines so my willingness to spend on it may exceed a lot of other folks who collect lots of different lines and have to manage spending accordingly. Anyway, always appreciate OOTB content. Glad to see your channel doing so well. Keep it up!
I can forgive a few missed paint apps on the smaller buckles. This thing is loaded with paint apps. Hell I’ll do those little buckles myself if need be. It’s one of the best in the line from what I can see.
Great review. Also great new figures with all the new bits. Deluxe pricing doesn't shock me, when 2 gaming greats dropped today that are $28 each. I'm sure Saw will go on sale.
I got a galen Erso at target! I'm sure saw was there but he got bought out. The price is not worth it! But I need Saw because he's like you said important to Star Wars and for my Rouge one collection, plus I love Rouge One!!! Also forest is one of my favorite actors! The likeness to Forest is insane! Is there a way to get rid of the shine on his face? Thought I heard there is a way to do that. Thanks for the review out of the Basement! -Stephen
If this figure was properly painted it would be a serious candidate for figure of the year. As is, those shortcomings will probably disqualify it. Still, it’s awesome and will likely crack my top 5. Thanks for the review!
Love this figure, while I kinda hated him in the movie The design is awesome, but there's a glaring issue with this that we consistently see from the black series, LACK OF INFANTRY. The reason why there's a thousand unboughten bespin Lando, is cuz they didn't make bespin wing guards to go with him, in the same vain we get SAW here with no chance of ever getting some of his revels which btw were some of the coolest designs. The gi joe line has absolutely mastered this concept, every wave has villains releasing with infantry that would fight along side them, they don't seem to do it with the joes but they really need to consider it as people would buy like crazy, it's nice getting Strom troopers, but some insurgents to go along with SAW would make him a must buy.
Not really, it’s kinda sculpted to just lay there. You can have it up by his face but I have yet to successfully pose him holding it in place. Thanks for watching! -Nate
@@OutOfTheBasement Wow, that's disappointing. Thank you!! Is it sad my preorder kinda hinges on this? I wanted to display my crazy boy getting his oxygen. Fig looks amazing, I mean it really looks great, breathing apparatus apparent failure aside, but I wasn't a big RO fan and don't own any others. Oddly enough, Saw is probably my favorite character in that movie. Might just hold out for a TCW/Rebels/Fallen Order version though.
I'm normally not an apologist but I think in this case you were a bit harsh...I think this figure shows a lot Hasbro is willing to do. I think some intern messed up on getting all the areas that needed paint details. 😔
This figure looks great and I love the breathing apparatus but I refuse to buy it as a deluxe, you'd have to be almost as crazy as ol' saw himself to think he's a deluxe. I'd rather save my $$$ for something like that sweet azbat.
This "deluxe" business is some BS. Regular sized figures with basic accessories, but $10+ more. If Chewbacca was released now, he'd be a deluxe release too. Then they have the cheek to charge full figure price for Grogu and his pram. Bloody Hasbro man! But I loved Rogue One, so gotta get him.
@@OutOfTheBasement Well, I got my Saw last week from BBTS. Yeah - pricey, but OMG, he's top tier in terms of sculpt and finish. Definitely one of the best SWB figures Hasbro has done. All he needs is a very light drybrush with some grey on his hair and he's perfect!
I really was not a fan of Rogue One. I fell asleep in the theater and did not see the whole film until it came out on blu ray later. It's a lot of figure but not good enough for me to spend a little over thirty dollars for it.
Everything is removable, which is great. I love this figure!
It does have plenty of extra bits on it. Pretty cool! -Justin
