Another flawless pop gem from this awesome Kiwi band, have loved the Bats for decades and tomorrow, finally, I'm going to see them live in Sydney, my home town. So excited
I haven't listened such a wonderful and deep song for a long while. So melodic, so bewitching. I don't live in Chirschurch, not even in New Zealand, but they say the best songs are universal and this one is. Thank you The Bats, i keep listening to you. Greetings from France.
Thanks so much for a beautiful song. Captures the essence of what we've all been through, what we've had to face, and the feelings we've all had. And the Christchurch we knew so well and loved, and we've lost down here. It does leave a hole.
A wistful song that seems to be about the passage of time, changes, and one's perception of things remembered in the past. The forward-looking refrain, "I will wait for you," is the forward-looking counterpoint to the lyrics in the verses that deal with impressions already lived. One of the Bats' masterpieces, simple and evocative.
One of lifes true pleasures was watching the bats perform in Hagley park on a lazy summer Sunday afternoon with a couple of beers and a few good friends, good memories of the 80s
I only discovered this band a couple of years ago ,to my shame. Now I'm a completist.I'm from Manchester, where we've produced some pretty decent bands. If The Bats were from my home city, they would be massive.I'm sure all Mancunians would empathise with the residents of Christchurch following the bombing last year I lost a friend myself.
Simpletons cross my path I don't know this anymore Looking after me I don't hear them anymore The writer send the words I don't read them anymore I will wait for you until the day Yes, I will wait for you if I may The day's a longer time for you And it will all be fine for you Giants and dragons fight I don't feel them anymore Apples and oranges I can't taste them like before The simple things again I don't feel them anymore I will wait for you until the day Yes, I will wait for you if I may The day's a longer time for you And it will all be fine for you
Really hard to watch, all the places I loved so much when I lived in Chch now gone forever. In some respects I think we have our own Tremé, given how long it's taken to rebuild.

Over 30 years and The Bats still going strong with some of the best songs anywhere - they deserve world wide recognition

Still brings a tear to mine too mate. I live in Japan but Christchurch will always be home.
Another reason why I love the bats so much. Absolutly beautiful! A band that has been part of the soundtrack of my life... :)
