I don't understand why you didn't just connect one door to the starting room and the other to the dungeon edge (90 degrees counter-clockwise of how you placed it)... That would have still allowed for a secret door without locking the one you're connected to, AND put the ogre farther from you. I feel like I'm missing some rule about room placement, because I don't want to believe you could just *miss* that. If you're just demonstrating how a locked door works, that's fine, but then you could just say you're going to do something you wouldn't normally so you can demonstrate it.
Hi... all of that was already listed in the Klingon subtitles and also in the description of the video... This is an older video so Richard didn't ask the viewers to turn on the Klingon subtitles like he does in videos made after this one, but if you are watching a video from this channel in the future (and from many other board gaming channels that also adopted this thing Richard created) turn on the Klingon subtitles so that you can see a subtitle on the screen alerting that something was done incorrectly
A great game is still a great game regardless of there game length. I would sit down and play a 3 plus hour game rather than a bad game that's an hour or less long.....but that's just me everyone have their own preferences I guess.....btw Rahdo I know you said you're playing with your wife Jen but if we don't know any better I'd say you're playing this game all by yourself by the way this look. Not to be rude and I apologize if it didn't came out right but that's what it looks like to me and I'm sure other people will agree not that any of this matter I'm just saying.....
Interesting game, but damn, the gameplay is so slow. After 50 minutes only one additional room is revealed. I know you were explaining things, but if someone I play with takes this long (or even half the time you take) to think what they will do, I will slit my wrists.
I think some of the things would normally run concurrently. Jen could have been deciding which room she wanted as soon as Richard got his room, because a new room would be drawn at that point. So she's thinking about that while Richard is still running his turn. Having said that, I kind of agree, this looks like a long game.
Some analysis paralysis unfolding in real time here ;) -- which isn't unexpected with a new game (for anyone) I suspect it's one of those that plays faster and faster with actual human experience at the table.
Why? It's called "analysis explanation to the benefit of the viewer". Or do you expect to read his mind as he plays? You must hate sports TV broadcasts where they keep analyzing plays all the time - and that's not even the people playing!
It's called "Analysis Paralysis" because he keeps hesitating and going back and forth on whether or not to do something, not "analysis explanation to the benefit of the viewer" because Rahdo has to make these decisions, explaining why or why not to do something wouldn't necessarily increase speed of game. Example: his orientation of the first room, he showed two orientations and was hesitating over what to do, because his explanation of the hidden door didn't come until after he thought he had decided what to do. Don't get me wrong, I like Rahdo, but when he suffers from analysis paralysis it makes his videos painful to watch. And I know people who have it worse than he does with simpler decisions to make in games, or that can be made before it's their turn and they still drag games out far too long. So seeing Rahdo struggle over what to do, I know this is a bad game for my group because of one person in it.
DwarfyDoodad No, that is not analysis paralysis (AP). That is rahdo analyzing, for his viewers, some of the choices which are to be made during gameplay. He is showing off various options as to how you could arrange that room - with the door in various orientations. At the same time, he was deciding which one he was going to do - and he was explaining to his viewers the logic of why he chose to place the room in that way - which is the way in which Richard does in all of his videos. Maybe his channel is not for you.
nice game but a bit to complicated, than again i'm not a fan of deck builders in general being a magic player, to me going with a prepared deck is the base. :D good review

yes, there's plenty for everyone to think about and plan when it's not their turn, and of course i couldn't do that when filming by myself
