The Calamity Mod is a large content mod for Terraria which adds many hours of endgame content and dozens of enemies and bosses dispersed throughout the vanilla game's progression. The Calamity Mod also features several harder difficulty modes, such as Death mode and revengeance mode five new biomes and new structures, a new class, a new leveling mechanic, more than thirty new songs, over fifty recipes for previously uncraftable vanilla items and other assorted changes to vanilla gameplay.

i remember getting harrased in terraria discord with my friend just for saying "there are better mods than calamity mod you dont need to worship the mod"
While I am one of the many who thinks Calamity is just built different, I don't think such a disagreement is any reason to harass someone, although considering the nature of the Terraria, specifically Calamity community, I can't say I'm surprised.
find a better discord server to talk in, Calamcord and tModcord are awful from what I've heard
the anarchist mod should definitely also be in this list its currently going trough a rework and has a mode called pandemonium its insanely hard but still fun
I have played homeward journey before and it does have some unique and interesting bosses
The Stars Above mod is actually compatible with both Calamity and Fargo's Souls since there's dialogue and graphics related to bosses from both mods
Honestly some calamity weapons are overpowered in The Stars Above and vice versa. So it messes with some balance stuff imo
@@shadowyt3769 true, but it kinda makes progression more chaotic in a kinda fun way
just because a mod has a bit of cross-mod content doesn't really mean it's compatible, what makes mods compatible are no bugs and good balance. From what I've heard TSA lacks the balance part, so I wouldn't really call it that

I play Stars Above for the occassional anime girl dialogue, it's fun to have a sorta companion while playing the game.

@@dm8. I already played it before 1.4 released, so i just want it to update and play it on newer versions
I really recommend checking out Split whenever it does actually get ported to 1.4, devs decided to not just make a port but a whole-ass full content update, which is huge considering how the mod focuses more on unique and quality stuff over quantity
Yeah, I think that in the last update it receiveed before 1.4 tmodloader was teasing something about an ocean themed update, don't remember it well though.
"Want to try something new?" I've playing it for 2 months and I'm going to milk it to death and beyond, most fun I've had in my 2000 hours and 4 years of playing Terraria.

Me and my brother JUST beat calamity the other day and were pretty upset cause it was such an amazing mod and we didn't want it to end, but a couple of these mods looked seriously awesome so I might give them a try as a remedy to our dilema lmao.
Ah, The Stars Above... I have tried it, yet failed. Because i couldn't understand everything about this mod. I've tried to read the guide in description of this mod, and everything is so complicated...
I plan on playing the stars above eventually, once the sub worlds finally become working again. I'd imagine it takes a lot to get those to work tho

@@axandelon9299 So do they work at the moment? Ive played through stars above back in august when the subworlds were broken/unfunctioning and i really wish to see if they do work.

What if i already played Stars Above with Calamity?
To be fair, they do work together and some Stars Above recepies and weapons change when you play with Calamity mod, like Bury The Light

Hey could you do a Story of Red Cloud small guide? I recently started it but I don't know what to do beside going in the first dungeon and I don't really know how to get armor/weapons since you almost can't mine
The modpack is very tricky, most items are locked behind puzzles and they require a lot of backtracking. When you encounter a path you should finish it even if it splits into multiple paths. Exploring the map as much as you Can is best because the late game some bosses are locked by paths that were needed to be previously explored. If its too tricky for you, you can install a mod that reveals the whole map but thats too much.
Also some bosses are meant to be fought before ones so you will defeat a harder boss then be able to defeat an easier one. if you can't progress or you're stuck look in the config and just give yourself a wrench to see where you must go or what you have to do

TSA is fun, Summoner with the Celestial Princess Genesis attire makes any dull drop farm extremely easy (Looking at you, Post-DoG Imvasions), it's a soft ban for any boss fights tough unless you want to see a Deep Sea Dumbbell hitting Yharon for 2M

I actually installed The Story of Red Cloud but didn't play it, was too lazy to download the map and I assumed it wouldn't work without it.

Calamity texturepack, not a mod. Find it on the Steam workshop under texture/resource packs

I love how the title of this video implies Calamity is always the first mod you should try, in the process implying all these other mods are an afterthought, as if it was the best. Which.. it's not.
It is though...
It's just the best at what Terraria does best (boss fights), every soundtrack is a banger, a whole new class with a stealth mechanic, and plenty of fun, unique weapons. Plus they actually care about balance, something mods like Thorium can't say.
Dont be _that_ harsh! It is a really good mod, awesome spritework, amazing music, cool mechanics actually, and they are changing a lot of their weapons to be wayy better and more unique, dont just copy&paste bullshit for likes!

@@tattut5950 could do, so far I've just beaten goblin army and eye of cthulhu, it's actually quite challenging, and there is a lot of reworks and other things I need to work with, I have no clue what I want to do next, but I believe there is somewhere I can go now I have hermes boots

Okay, cool.
Still, not a single mod I've seen since I first found Overhaul beats it (Okay, maybe Starlight River does, but that's honestly unfair, and the mod is undone as well)! Overhaul mod is just pure perfection, man! It's like Kroom's Forge (A mod for a game ''Cosmoteer,'' known to be much more quality over quantity and way more polished and vanilla-like than almost every other mod) of Terraria mods, just this incredibly high-quality rework of the base game that almost surpasses it in how good it is! It is not the most polished thing in the world with a lot of weird bugs, but otherwise it is a perfect Terraria mod. But yeah Calamity is definitely a close runner up for my second most favorite mod only because haha DM Dokuro soundtracks go brr.
