Awesome podcast. Slammin Sammy is a legend. I cried when I heard he carried his sick Dad up the stairs back in the day. Gutted he nearly went to my Sea Eagles. I also love Union so it’s fascinating to hear him talk about difference. Glad he’s back in the best sport in the world.
Every so often he says a word with a real Aussie twang. He can wear an England cricket shirt with pride now 👌🏼

Disgrace that Burgess was made the scapegoat for England crashing out of the RWC - was one of our better players. Shame he didn't stay around longer in Union and let Eddie Jones get into him; would have been World class in two codes!

I wish Sam was asked who he thinks was the toughest player he played against.i loved watching Sam play there was no forward pack he dident think he could dominate but I would like to know what Sam thinks of my opinion that Maloney was probably as tough if not more so than sam .he would aim up at Maloney like he has much respect for his toughness and Maloney was never rattled and would go that bit further than other play makers to get a good kick or pass even thoe he new Sam was going to hit him with everything he could ..

@@mattmck1929 he has played NRL for Newcastle ( won a Premiership there), and also represented NSW and Australia.....so he is pretty well known.

Where's Inglis, Renouf, Blacklock, Mundine, Thurston, Sailor, Tuqiri, Peachey, Campbell, Lyons and all the other coloured stars of the game and why do none of them have a spot on nine or fox as analysts or commentators?
Thurston is working for channel 9 and i’m sure the rest of them don’t want to you dimwit, not to mention the majority of them are old school players who retired years ago and wouldn’t know an apple from an orange in the modern game.

By the way, I would love to see indigenous commentators, and have they educate the ignorant city people on what it means to grow up on a community etc. Australia still has a lot to learn from our Aboriginal peoples. But there could be doxens of reasons they aren't. They might not want to keep sacrificing family for footy. They may not feel confident.
