  • This is our illustrative rendering of the transmission of low back pain which was revealed by the placement of DRG stimulation at T12. DRG-S at T12 for low back pain has been superior to any other form of stimulation for low back pain in our experience.
As the science continues to unravel, differences between spinal cord stimulation and DRG-S are becoming more evident. This illustration is demonstrates transmission of low back pain from DRG stimulation at the level of T12 based off our publication 'The Pathways and Processes Underlying Spinal Transmission of Low Back Pain: Observations From Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation Treatment' published in Neuromodulation April 2020.
Neural transmission of low back pain in the spinal cord was not clear until the results of this therapy at the T12 level in particular. The role of which inhibitory transmitters are actually blocking the pain are yet to be elucidated, although we believe the endogenous opioid system plays a vital role in this process.
