Yes! Not only is it a great way to make sure you are not throwing out extra microgreens you may have grown, but it is a great way to sneak more nutrition into your meals..... especially if you have a picky eater in the house. Thank you for your comment and please let us know if there are any other topics you would like me to cover.
Appreciate your tips on dehydrating, but what if a person is suppose to stay away from Salt? Can they rehydrate or be used in a healthy smoothie? Or added just as they are in a soup?
You can keep them dehydrated and just use them as an herb spice rather than adding it to salt as an option if you're not allowed salt. On that note though you might want to check with your health professional and just ask if it's okay to have a natural salt like a sea salt or a pink Himalayan salt rather than a processed salt because the body does react to it differently from my experience but definitely something to check for sure❤
We agree here on both comments Amamda put forth. Adding them without salt, or adding them to an herbal salt substitute is a great alternative. Please do talk with your doctor and/or do some research on your condition which they are suggesting you to reduce or eliminate salt all together. I have seen a lot of resent research indicating total elimination of salt is not the answer they once thought. We personally like Dr Berg and here is what he says about table salt vs sea salts and the affect on blood pressure. ruclips.net/video/FXdpYjp812o/видео.htmlsi=FMZ-E6_OP0EUF1da A great resource for more information would be NIH.
I honestly want to know why people would wash microgreens. What problem does it solve? What are you hoping to accomplish? Dirt from sunflower and maybe a few seed hulls from broccoli or radish are the only thing I can think of. But those issues are so minor it would never be worth my time. Just curious!
I completely agree with you! The only time I could think that someone may want to wash their microgreens is if they did not grow them and are concerned if they had been sprayed. My thought is why not grow them yourself, it is so easy! Thanks for your thoughts on this as well!!
Thank you for your comment! We don't freeze our microgreens wither. We do have a friend who does freeze the leftovers.... better than not having any or throwing them out. Freeze dried is a good option if you have access to a freezedryer.
