    You have potential for the delayed axel!

      @HUDSON LEWIS she will need a lot more height that's true

      @HUDSON LEWIS Dude I dont think you've ever Ice skated before because that is a decent height and you would know that if you have ever did a jump on ice before.

      @HUDSON LEWIS Well you just love to put people down when they are just starting out dont you... People like you shouldn't even be in comment sections as you ruin it for everybody. Really ruining the positive vibes... if you have really skated then you were once a beginner... you were once that kid that is holding onto the wall and can barely skate forward.. That is why when somebody is a beginner you dont downgrade them, etc. because you were the same once. Thank you but I will not be replying back.

      @HUDSON LEWIS gosh it’s really sad how you think you are better than everybody just because you are doing doubles 🤭🤭 get off your high horse and realise you were in the same position as her…

    I’m not a skater, but (in my opinion) she has amazing leg development! I always thought ballerinas had the most beautiful legs, since I’ve always done ballet, but skating must build good muscles too, unless it’s just her genetics.

      I think because she has really long legs it looks good. my coach says i have really good hip extension and high legs when i jump but mine are short and stubby so it doesnt look like this :(

    Very good beginner waltz jump. the follow through with the right leg, and the way the body follows it will lead into a solid Axel one day! Keep up the good work!

    You showed us a lovely waltz jump and then a toeloop technique known as a toe axel 😅

  • @janetslater129
    @janetslater129 7 месяцев назад +1

    I wouldn't call that a beginner waltz jump. Most beginner waltz jumps are small without good extension. This beats that by a long shot.

    Are you supposed to keep the swinging leg bent or should it be straighter?

    • @wouldyounot7971
      @wouldyounot7971 Год назад +2

      The kicking leg should almost be straight but slightly bent. Nothing should ever be completely straight. Hers was perfect. If you keep it straight you will hurt your knee

    • @PauseDraw
      @PauseDraw Год назад +1

      @@wouldyounot7971 In an axel, yes. So why not train your legs to wrap into eachother.

    • @PauseDraw
      @PauseDraw Год назад +1

      In a traditional waltz jump, you keep them straight. But if you are going into axel preparations, you want that bent "h" shape.

    • @wouldyounot7971
      @wouldyounot7971 Год назад

      @@PauseDraw my mistake, i think i meant while landing, never with a straight knee which will hurt

    • @TheLarryBrown

      I've seen it taught on RUclips both ways. With the legs making an upside down V shape, as is done in this video, and also popularly taught to make a bent knee on the free leg, to make an "h" shape. Making an h shape gets your foot higher off the ice, giving the illusion of more height, and also makes for more movement of the feet, making it look like you are doing something more exciting. The V shape will be easier.

    What kind of progression is that😂 To be able to do the first jump you probably still need years of skating experience

      not necessarily) I've been doing, well, and now I've been doing figure skating for like 4 years. Well, in the first month, I immediately jumped overboard. Then years have passed, and now I'm jumping a triple axel, working on a four. I hope in the future, it will be useful to me

    • @bcthoburn
      @bcthoburn 2 года назад +2

      If you're flexible enough you can do it almost by stepping to backwards without really jumping. If someone can skate fast, skates regularly, they have the strength to and probably even just consider this jump footwork without being a figure skater. The person in the video is just doing it really well (well actually, it could be *even* better so more like moderately well).
      Still, it's a great video!

    • @ess6028
      @ess6028 2 года назад +1

      @stillx no, a waltz jump is not that complicated. 😊
      I did it in 2 months (with this height too, yes!) Lots and lots and lots of training and dare to fall/fail 😉
      But what I do see is the poor landing position technique and arms spinning around like crazy. 🙄 that's not how you're taught in your classes! The leg extension on the other hand is beautiful.

    • @wouldyounot7971
      @wouldyounot7971 Год назад

      @@ess6028 That isn't poor technique. The arms spinning around is a style, your arm should follow your legs just as she did when she landed. Look at kamila valieva.
