Hi guys, I just want to show you what I use for my pond skimmer and that is a pool skimmer (ALADDIN #750 NO NICHE SKIMMER) design for the pool. It is the best and budget friendly skimmer you can buy.
Yes if you feed a large amount of food all at once, what I usually do is take off the top part of the skimmer while feeding a large amount all at once but if I hand feed my kois then I don't need to because they will eat the food before it gets sucked in the skimmer
Hi. I saw this video recommending the Aladdin Equipment 750B Skimmer No Niche Type, Black, and decided to buy it on Amazon for my koi pond. I initially installed using a 1600 gph then replaced it using a 4000 GPH submersible pump opposite my waterfall, just like you showed in your video. However, I'm experiencing an issue: the black skimmer section floats slightly above the water level, preventing trash from flowing into the basket. I contacted the manufacturer, but they were very rude and told me to contact the seller. Do you have any idea why this might be happening or how I can fix it? I appreciate any recommendations you can offer to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi there, if the float section not skimming the surface of the water than that mean most of the suction is happening at the bottom of the pipe, you need to cut back the expose part at the bottom of the skimmer and force the pump to suck water from the top skimmer, good luck
All my pumps are energy efficient at 120 watts 4,200 gal/hr. I can't find my model online since it has been a few years since I bought it but this is what I find that's even better 90 watts 3435 gal/hr. www.amazon.com/dp/B0C4XBQQNF/ref=sspa_mw_detail_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9kZXRhaWw&th=1
No, I don't have a bottom drain because I did not want to tamper with my pond liner, my 4,000 gal/hr pump at the deepest part of the pond acts as an bottom drain

Thank you for the info. I installed my skimmer. My question is how do you keep your small koi from getting suck into the skimmer. Thanks
My small koi does not get stuck in the skimmer
Does the 550 GPH pump have enough power to work with this skimmer? Thank you!
No, you will need a stronger pump than that around 2000gal or higher
@@chu0435 Thank you for the quick response.

I bought a submersible pump that does not have a pipe fitted inlet, just the normal box and pre filter screen. How can I connect it to my skimmer??
You will have to buy extra fitting for it
