And pointing out the inaccuracies of this movie to avoid potential young people and others what they can see in it isn't to be blindly taken and instead only with grain of salt is a fair thing to do. Aside than that, was a nice video, and very relevant for release at the day of christmas itself, given the very icy theme ! Very Christmas ! Red Raptor !

Maerry Christmas, you mad lad! One thing I really liked is the number of different species in the series, especially the obscure ones. I love to see how he reacts to and describes the villains of the second movie, Cretaceous and Maelstrom.
We also see what appear to be some chunky tapirs with short elephant-like trunks and slender legs with rather chunky feet. Now I’m not really sure if they are tapirs, I just call them that because they look similar, which I’m not usually known to do without knowing more about particular creatures that look similar to others that they’re not, but whatever. Apparently tapirs did inhabit North America during the ice age until about 12,000 years ago or 10,000 BC, but I don’t know if they would have lived this far north or if any were this thick, but I doubt they would have had proper trunks or thick feet as perissodactylids (which is the order tapirs are in) typically have feet as thick as their calves, and their toes don’t resemble elephant toes like what’s shown in the franchise. They also appear to lack hair or fur, which really tapirs would have. If anyone else knows more about these animals and how much they differ from their real life counterparts, do let me know.
It's an outdated depiction of Moeritherium, a basal proboscidean which lived in North Africa during the Eocene. It also appears in the Walking With Beasts episode with the Basilosaurus. It's more likely that It didn't have a trunk and it probably had a lifestyle similar to that of a Hippo or a pygmy hippo
Yeah, I see over the years quite a fair amount of meme or stuff against the baby (who while not named in the movie itself is named Roshan I think). And yes, I don't understand the hate many people have against him. Less than a minute in and already you're running with the "Can't say Christmas" bullshit? How hard is it to stick to Palaeontology and verifiable facts?
Idk. I’ve never once had someone tell me I can’t say or celebrate Christmas, but I’ve heard about a thousand people complain about not being able to. If you can’t find a real issue to be outraged about, make one up 🤷♂
@@paleopal Same feeling. I almost exclusively hear conservatives talk about these “woke” things, instead of the people who are supposedly woke. It’s just a big distraction from actual problems that actually affect people.
@@paleopal Pretty much. "Happy Holidays" isn't as common here in the UK as the US, but it's generally considered a small common courtesy since not everyone celebrates Christmas, be it for religious or secular reasons. Boomers and conservatives alike hate being inclusive, so they make up an issue about "not being able to say Merry Christmas!" since Christianity isn't in the spotlight for five seconds.
Although Scrat is retroactively a Cronopio, I’ve decided to give him the fictional species name of Sciuruscus Dentisaber which translates to “Saber-Toothed Ancient Squirrel,” which would’ve lived from 2.6 million to 10,000 years ago
That one is a sequel to Clash of the Dinosaurs so it would probably rank similar if we’re taking about the fauna, although the a Parasaurolophus and Sauroposeidon models being reused for Charonosaurus and Alamosaurus are questionable.
What's funny is that Blue Sky actually DID consult paleo experts about the movie, and they were essentially told "Look you can do whatever you wanna do just PLEASE no dinosaurs" Which is pretty ironic considering the route they would take later in the series. Also to your question, according to the movie synopsis on the back of the dvd, the movie meant to take place 11 thousand years ago in North America Also Sid was apparently intended to be a Megalonyx, which the La Brea does acknowledge in it's article about him
