I wish I could take care of that many animals! I live on Oahu and it’s literally my dream (besides meeting you) to open a reserve kinda thing by the tunnel to the other side of the island because there’s a lot of rain and it’s so beautiful there! And I’m planning to keep tons of animals there!

The heavy duty slow feeder nets you pointed out are the BEST!!!! Slow feeding is proven to help prevent ulcers and choke, as it slows down feeding, and is more natural for a horse because it makes their forage last longer as if they were grazing (the natural way for horses to forage/graze/eat). It also holds several laps of hay. You can also hang it at different areas of your stall so they don't get bored eating in the same spot. This is enriching for horses.

In my grandparents barns they just have the mini troughs and they work very well. As for hay they have a built in manger that can fit at most a square bale standing on its side ( but they don't actually feed the horses that much).

I highly reccomend getting a fourwheeler with a trailer to haul behind it. In my opinion it is a lot easier than working the tractor.

If you scratch when you touch the hay then you might be allergic to it, I am allergic to hay not only did/does the scratches from the hay swell up but it also makes me itch as well.

We use hay hoops at our barn and the horses love them. Its also super easy to just open and close them when you put flakes inside. They’re definitely my favorite slow hay feeders!

I use slow feed hay nets (1.5 inch holes) in my barn. I had a metal rack feeder and hated it because my horses would waste so much hay and overall they were just horrible. I would recommend the nets to anyone because they are healthier for the horses gut and have almost no waste.

You should do haynets and automatic waters. It means you don't have to keep filling up the water buckets. They just go on the wall 🐎
What about the names Baxter, Billy, Scout, and Freddie for the kittens? They are the names of the grey ponies we have at the stable I ride at. Or Mocha, Mia, Jubilee, and Frosty? They are the mare ponies at the stables I ride at.

I like to use muck buckets for water (new ones of course lol) They hold a lot but because they are taller, they don't use up as much space.

Hi Steph! First of all, sending birthday wishes to Jolene! Can't believe it's been a full year! Also, I would use some kind of hay net for the stalls because its very convenient. I don't have horses personally but I do work at a barn and they use slow feeder hay nets and it seems to work very nicely.
In my barn for hay we just put it on the ground or if they need it we use a hay net. we also use buckets for water.
at my old barn we did the same with the hay but they were ~fancy~ so they used automatic waterers!
