hey first off all great thing getting some bedding for the goats. As an animal caretaker I have a tip for you. next time use straw instead of hay for bedding. because straw has alot less nutritional value then hay does so if they eat alot of it they won't gain as much weight as they would with hay. its just a tip but I hope you keep it in mind.
I hope you check all of your engine bays before you start them up, because cats love to crawl in and around engines to sleep. I trained our outside cats with remote starting because the horn honks twice before the engine starts, giving the cats a chance to get out

Please be careful with vehicle engine fans. Cats have the bad habit of going inside the car's engine when it's warm and sometimes they can suffer something serious if the vehicle is started with them inside. Congratulations on the adoption and I wish the kitten much health and joy. and by the way... He can be called "Lucky". after all, he was lucky to be adopted.
I trust that Matt knows this being a vet in tx but just in case, to ease my mind, I will tell you goats need to be monitored pretty close with their food consumption because they get bloat a lot easier than other livestock due to their inability to throw up. Goats eating themselves to death unfortunately is an issue. Like I said I trust Matt way more than myself when caring for livestock, he's a very smart man and an incredibly hard worker and I honestly look up to him.
Except I think Matt is small animal vet so he probably just had couple courses in livestock, farming, or large animal vet management. He probably doesn’t remember everything about goats!
I am surprised that flimsy little golf cart did so well. You might consider getting a bale handler for your little older flatbed for the future. Also, we use straw for bedding if you have it in your area. Goats are browsers, so they would rather eat a busy plant than grass. I think Pat (or Felix or Rudy) is such a cute barn cat. Just an FYI. Hay is meant to feed your cattle. Straw is meant for bedding. Hay tends to get wet easily and starts getting moldy and moldy Hay can cause respiratory issues. Plus, a straw round bale is almost half the weight of hay! So you could easily roll it up that hill 😅
Was thinking the same thing. He also should of left the rest of that bale rolled up the goats wouldn't have a problem eating it directly from the bale.
@brandonwatts5031 just because someone is a small animals vet doesn't mean they are a farmer/rancher that understands farm animals. Hell I wouldn't take my cows to the same vet I take my dogs to. Why? Because each vet learns about only what they plan on dealing with. So unless you're a vet like Dr. Pol who is certified in small, medium and large animals and exotics...

Did you think to use your skid steer or tractor, you can put a spearhead on the bucket. Round bales are heavy. Instead of a big round bale you can get small bales of straw or hay or use shavings for bedding.

Little kitten is almost an exact match to my own cat who we had to put down on July 27th of this year. He was gonna turn seventeen on the 31st of July. Named him Mater after Tow Mater since the first Cars movie came out around that time and I was absolutely obsessed with the character.
Get the lil one a female 🐱 kitten friend, so they can bond as kittens. Then they can learn how to hunt together & protect each other from predators on your property. Name one 'Mouse', & the other one 'Trap'😂 Also you should do a surprise apperance on Vet Ranch with them when you spay & neuter them.
Cutest kitten! With her little, white paws and that one thigh-high on the back leg, she could be Socks or Boots. Both are nouns and verbs. They describe her paws and her actions, i.e., she socks the mice and boots them from the barn.

Ok.. that's a keeper. The dog moved out (son's pup) leaving Kenji to himself (3-4yr old feline mountain rescue, what I call a 'pocket puma').. we found two calico kittens (more rescues) to keep him on his toes. When he's out all day/night, they keep each other company. I'm also thinkin an RFID collar with a door in/out of the shop, to avoid the bigger, meaner critters.

Hey, I'm not sure if it's true or not but I've heard that if you keep a cat around chickens, the chickens get something in their eggs that make it so if someone has allergies to cats, if they eat the chicken eggs then their allergy to cats will lessen. He is/was a vet and has treated many cats with car engine injuries. I'm sure he's aware of the risks.
wonder too if he uses cat safe antifreeze, it's toxic in very small amounts and tastes sweet to cats and dogs.

Ok.. that's a keeper. The dog moved out (son's pup) leaving Kenji to himself (3-4yr old feline mountain rescue, what I call a 'pocket puma').. we found two calico kittens (more rescues) to keep him on his toes. When he's out all day/night, they keep each other company.
I'm also thinkin an RFID collar with a door in/out of the shop, to avoid the bigger, meaner critters.

Hey, I'm not sure if it's true or not but I've heard that if you keep a cat around chickens, the chickens get something in their eggs that make it so if someone has allergies to cats, if they eat the chicken eggs then their allergy to cats will lessen. Worth trying :) maybe Mere will be able to be around kitties more!
