    Magnus was at a 100% in this match. But Fabi also went on a subtle tilt. Even when he got the adv he made uncharacteristic blunders letting it slip. And with the 2 players showing these trends, it was clear Magnus will win almost all games and draw the rest. Fabi just didn't have it that day. Maybe it was even the psych of playing a suped up Magnus

    • @RsGenjil
      @RsGenjil Год назад +50

      There was a video where a low rated player was going toe to toe with a GM, he was secretly cheating and the point was to see if the GM noticed. The GM did notice after a game or 2 and asked what's going on, so while it's not proof in itself, I guess when players of this calibre really feel someone genuinely cheated, perhaps that is sadly the most reliable evidence. Issue is of course doing this over the board and how exactly did Hans pull this off? I think Magnus has to be given the benefit of the doubt here even though he is quite dramatic and Hans simply has a record of cheating in the past.
      Perhaps cheaters should be completely banned from competing. Sad, but maybe that's the only way.

    • @Sneaky-Sneaky

      Not logical…..

    • @thearcanehunter2736
      @thearcanehunter2736 Год назад +11

      @@RsGenjil This was a little bit hard to read. Your conclusions don't make that much sense - the GM probably noticed because this guy who cheated played moves way above his calibre. Hans is a GM, so he can very well play well, even if he does cheat sometimes. This means strange moves from him could still be from him, since he has the capacity to see those strange moves even if it's unlikely. Sure, Magnus's instincts could be correct, but it's far from substantial enough to ban him.
      Also the jump when you decided that cheaters should be banned was quite dramatic. Not sure how that pertains to detecting cheaters. In fact, your conclusion of GM's being able to spot cheater's fairly easily would support the opposite, since a significant reason to ban cheaters is because it's hard to catch them in-game, making their effects quite disastrous while being hidden, like a poison. In fact, yeah, let's use a poison analogy. A cheater is like a poison. If it can be spotted easily, there's little reason to fear it (another reason to would be if it's hard to remove, but cheating is simple to remove). If a poison is silent, it becomes a great hazard, and requires drastic countermeasures.
      Anyways, I don't understand any of your conclusions.

    • @jiggymgn
      @jiggymgn Год назад +3

      Magnus is absolutely phenomenal, but he does have off days. I think Hans simply caught him on one when he beat him with black. Hans' history of cheating online doesn't automatically make him a cheater OTB, and to this day there's still no conclusive proof he cheated in that game. Not a big fan of Hans personally (in fact, I was really pissed when he lost to Hans), but you can't just ruin someone's career because of a hunch.

    • @kabine1
      @kabine1 Год назад +2

      I agree that Carlson was having an off day, and that it's totally possible that Hans could have won legitimately. But I just trust the intuition of Magnus, Hikaru, and Fabiano more than my own. Now I'm not suggesting we take intuition as evidence, we need hard evidence before expelling Hans from professional chess. But I can't shake the suspicion off either. Hopefully we get some rematches and more OTB Hans games that display his understanding of chess and his ability to defeat the best players in the world

    Magnus was just unbeatable, playing countless IQP positions that is meant to be considered a weakness and outplaying Fabi. Over five exchange sack and winning them all. Drawing a game down three pawns. And Jailing Fabi king in what looked like a winning pawn and rook endgame but with the rook stuck defending the pawn and king stuck, it fizzled out as a draw.

      Yes - but Magnus had 6s left on the clock. He expected Fabiano to move the queen, so he pre-moved Nd5 to place the king in check: ruclips.net/video/zz6dBcPmW_Q/видео.html
      Fabiano was probably playing against this expectation to catch Magnus off-guard.

    Fabiano goes home after this unfortunate match. All that's keeping him going is getting to go home, boot up the computer, put on his favorite chess RUclipsr, relax, and have a few laughs.
    27 Minutes later, a single tear drops and he goes to bed.
    (jk - I'd prefer to think he got some renewed vigor after a rest, and will be out with a vengeance in the next tournament! Let's be honest, the man has *nothing* to prove to anyone but himself. He's the man!)

    Fabiano Luigi Caruana -- Peak Rating 2844 ELO in 2014. Ranked #2 right next to Magnus for a while. Currently world's #7 at ELO 2766
    Born 1992. Grandmaster at age 15 (2007). American chess player.
    And yes, I am not surprised that 20:00 "he is really freaking good at chess". I don't think him getting a lead in a game VS Magnus is surprising at all.

    I cant imagine how Fabiano had to have felt in this game. This man is among the greatest chess players of our generation, studies and plays probably hours everyday, aquired the highest rank, Grandmaster, possible and devoted his life to this game, perfecting his every move.
    All of that just to have some random guy from Norway being born the absolute god of chess, destroying every grandmaster with ease and gapping you in an very important match like you are a 450 Elo player. Ngl that had to have hurt soooo bad. I cant imagine. I mean they know what Magnus can do and how good he is, but it still has to suck to lose everytime despite giving it your all
