The world record is actually Levy having made the most Magnus content on the internet.
That’s his next clickbait
lets be real: if you look at his tournament recaps, the Viewerbar is always the highest in Timestamps when Magnus is involved.
Demand and Supply. It eez what it eez. 🤷♂
yea think magnus his bf or something but maybe oneday levy might actually be gm probably not.
Oh no! A chess based channel is making videos on the best chess player in the world?!? It just doesn’t make sense! You’re a goofball.
If people are watching it, he'll keep doing it. People are watching and will keep watching it.
the way he dominated a top 5 player on this era is absolutely insane. going undefeated is crazy
@RR L + ratio + bozo
And people still think Hikaru>Magnus lol...
@@hellolol5388 Nobody says that
@@hellolol5388 who tf says that... I like hikaru and everything but that is just factually untrue...
@@hellolol5388 I don't think anyone thinks that. That would be like thinking that Bob Ross is better than Leonardo, just cus he can knock out a watercolour in a 30 minute episode.
Magnus was at a 100% in this match. But Fabi also went on a subtle tilt. Even when he got the adv he made uncharacteristic blunders letting it slip. And with the 2 players showing these trends, it was clear Magnus will win almost all games and draw the rest. Fabi just didn't have it that day. Maybe it was even the psych of playing a suped up Magnus
not to mention how in your head you get after it starts looking like he might sweep you
@@wyattmason8838 that feeling is called being tilted.
It's definitely a combo of a bit of tilt and Magnus just being absolutely on his game, even by GOAT standards. Like this was a ridiculous match even considering just how dominant Magnus has been.
Sure, it was clear that Magnus would win the match pretty soon, but going 22-4 against someone like Fabi is insane on incomprehensible levels. This is no longer a matter of 'just not having it', this is worse, and I gotta feel sorry for Fabi, maybe even more than be blown away by how ridiculously on point Magnus was in this match today...
I believe your telling just half of the story. Most of their 5+1 minutes blitz was played at over 90% accuracy, with Magnus playing at 97% percent accuracy in the first game how can you simply beat that. There was no blunder by Fabi except during time pressures.
We need to give Magnus the respect he deserves because on this form his in. Nobody in the world is stopping him, not even fragging Hikaru
Naroditsky even complemented Fabi play
I was watching this live, and I can't even wrap my brain around what I saw.
I don't even think Fabiano played bad. But Magnus was pulling out draws from losing positions. He was reading Fabiano's moves like a book to win.
He's truly a chess magician.
More like magnician
Another level entirely.

@Christopher Isetta a draw is worth 0.5

I wanted Fabi to win those last games so bad 😭, but Magnus realized what he was about to do and he went all in.
He did have chances in the last two games that fizzled out as a draw, but Magnus defended like a Lion. Poor Fabi

How wrong is it going to feel when Nepo has the world champion title and Magnus is still roaming the earth playing at this level?
The false world champion
@Zio Peraza Because Magnus has refused to play Nepo to retain his title, and Nepo is playing the 2nd-place candidate for the title.
By refusing to defend, he’s basically added “runner up” to the title of champion. Everyone knows he’s the goat

It reminds me of those ads on Facebook where they use a fake depiction of a game for the ad, which looks 10x more interesting than the actual game 😂
It’s called an Oreo you fucking sick freak
I watched this live and was on the edge of my seat basically the whole time. Magus is not human. The guy always finds a way. Fabi is rated 6th(?) in the world and Magnus absolutely dismantled him.
3rd in blitz..
Fabi is also the 3rd highest rated player in history, and somehow rated higher than Magnus in blitz currently. And Magnus adopted him.
@@noone-ld7pt really? Magnus was in no.1 and fabi in no.3 I thought
@@tanjiroushirogane690 Magnus hasn't been #1 in Blitz for quite some time, Hikaru and Alireza have been #1 lately. Dunno how Fabi ended up 3rd in rating though, he is a great classical player but not so much in blitz
A Magus.
Magnus just took Fabiano's soul. This gave me original AlphaZero vs. Stockfish flashbacks
Can I just say that Levi's description and broadcasting skills are insane 😭 chess feels like UFC when he's talking about it. And that caffeine must work pretty well 😆 love the energy ❤️ much love ✌🏼
I know nothing about chess and I'm still gripped by the storytelling
yeah and also the insults to the engine while explaining moves that would actually make sense and not be realised by low level players at the same time and giving variations and multiple choices
at this point Magnus can just start moving his rooks diagonally and we'd still be like "Whoah what a move!"
Im glad Levy has been recently gaining recognition and now sponsors too.He deserves it.

It reminds me the Classic Chempionship last year. Nepo is domitating in the Classic Chess and he proved it this year in the Candidates Tournament. But. When he starts to play with Magnus something happens and he can not do anything with it.
i know it from my own games when i am leading but have to play against someone who starts defending extremly well. Every move he defends well you getting little panic, then you re making the first mistake then second and the game is lost. Thats what exactly happens when they play against Magnus. He is the best Defender of all time, thats what makes him so strong, the coordination between his pieces are insane.
“What does magnus do? Just plays moves.” Thank you Levy, insightful as always
But does Magnus know how the knights move ?
Glad I wasn't the only one ready to point that out, haha
Sounds like Magnus grabbed hold of Fabi, turned him upside down, dunked his head in a bucket & mopped the floor with him. What a beast.
I watched the whole stream live, waiting Fabi to get a win, but the way Magnus deals with positions, it's INSANE dude. He's a magician
I was also watching live and I legit felt Fabi's frustration, I don't dislike Magnus by any means but his play just feels frustrating
Yeah, and you could tell Fabiano was trying really hard to win too. I almost started to feel bad for him. What Magnus did there was just.... INSANE. That kind of domination.
That was out of this world, the best performance chess world has ever seen, insane Magnus Carlsen. Its so sad that he will not defend his title, very soon we will call him not worldchampion anymore, i dont understand his decision.
Cuz it doesnt matter to him anymore. He knows hes the GOAT and will continue to be the GOAT for a long time so why waste time. A title is just a title, its meaningless to him now.
What do you mean?(sry im new to chess)
5:18 The thought of explaining vaping to a chess audience has me in stitches 🤣
Glad he stopped.
It's insane how much I'm looking forward to this recap after managing to watch this live
Magnus is insane
7:55 “It’s not the first mistake in chess that kills you, it’s the second one.”

Seeing Messi making history again was AMAZING!!! ⚽️
Magnus's prowess always makes me wonder about Hans. I wonder if there will ever be definitive proof one way or the other. Carlson is just beyond so many others with his grasp of the game.
There was a video where a low rated player was going toe to toe with a GM, he was secretly cheating and the point was to see if the GM noticed. The GM did notice after a game or 2 and asked what's going on, so while it's not proof in itself, I guess when players of this calibre really feel someone genuinely cheated, perhaps that is sadly the most reliable evidence. Issue is of course doing this over the board and how exactly did Hans pull this off? I think Magnus has to be given the benefit of the doubt here even though he is quite dramatic and Hans simply has a record of cheating in the past.
Perhaps cheaters should be completely banned from competing. Sad, but maybe that's the only way.
@@RsGenjil
Not logical…..
@@RsGenjil This was a little bit hard to read. Your conclusions don't make that much sense - the GM probably noticed because this guy who cheated played moves way above his calibre. Hans is a GM, so he can very well play well, even if he does cheat sometimes. This means strange moves from him could still be from him, since he has the capacity to see those strange moves even if it's unlikely. Sure, Magnus's instincts could be correct, but it's far from substantial enough to ban him.
Also the jump when you decided that cheaters should be banned was quite dramatic. Not sure how that pertains to detecting cheaters. In fact, your conclusion of GM's being able to spot cheater's fairly easily would support the opposite, since a significant reason to ban cheaters is because it's hard to catch them in-game, making their effects quite disastrous while being hidden, like a poison. In fact, yeah, let's use a poison analogy. A cheater is like a poison. If it can be spotted easily, there's little reason to fear it (another reason to would be if it's hard to remove, but cheating is simple to remove). If a poison is silent, it becomes a great hazard, and requires drastic countermeasures.
Anyways, I don't understand any of your conclusions.
Magnus is absolutely phenomenal, but he does have off days. I think Hans simply caught him on one when he beat him with black. Hans' history of cheating online doesn't automatically make him a cheater OTB, and to this day there's still no conclusive proof he cheated in that game. Not a big fan of Hans personally (in fact, I was really pissed when he lost to Hans), but you can't just ruin someone's career because of a hunch.
I agree that Carlson was having an off day, and that it's totally possible that Hans could have won legitimately. But I just trust the intuition of Magnus, Hikaru, and Fabiano more than my own. Now I'm not suggesting we take intuition as evidence, we need hard evidence before expelling Hans from professional chess. But I can't shake the suspicion off either. Hopefully we get some rematches and more OTB Hans games that display his understanding of chess and his ability to defeat the best players in the world
Levy: makes another video on magnus
Me: HE CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THISSSSS!!!
Actually it was more of a video on chess and the speed chess championship it just happened to be that Magnus being a fantastic player made a second time ever no losses record for four hours straight and also beat another GM 22 to 4

I am waiting for the moment that the next WCC is played and he still says "He is the World Champion" about Carlsen.
I’m relatively new to chess and firstly, got to say you’re my favourite chess YT channel and your videos are so helpful.
I’m so glad my first ever live chess match was last night, I knew Carlsen was great and arguably the GOAT but he was unbelievable, playing another super GM and not losing a game is unreal!
Imagine the next c2 podcast:
Christian: So Fabi, how do you recover mentally from such a defeat?
Fabi: Thats the neat part. You don't.
Watched this live. When Magnus is on form. Nobody can stop him. Past or present. He really is the 🐐
So many times I start watching one of your videos and I'm like "sure this sounds interesting but no way I'm going to watch a whole 30 minutes video" and then what feels like a few moments later I take a look at the time and it's like 27 minutes in or something... That's insane, it's like a trap, you're real good at what you do man
Fabiano undoubtedly has the best opening preparation amongst all the GM's. I still can't digest how this was possible.
I fucking love how Levi describes Magnus' playstyle and complexity lmfao. Most entertaining Chess content creator out there xD
Levy's commentating and thumbnailing skills speaking for themselves as always!!!
You should add a timestamp in the description of how long the chess match actually took. It would be cool to see the comparison between how far you get into the analysis vs how long it took the players to complete the entire match.
It seems like Magnus retiring from the World Chess Classic Championship Title relieved him of some stress he had, and now he's just playing like the god he is
Levi: this is a genius move
Stockfish: well yes but actually no 😅

Magnus - Caruana looking like Plub - Amsa out here.
Literally watched this recap to see your comment when Magnus played g5 and then sacking his bishop, and you didn't include it in the recap. I felt that was mind blowing. Nice recap though. And my condolences to Fabi
Magnus was just unbeatable, playing countless IQP positions that is meant to be considered a weakness and outplaying Fabi. Over five exchange sack and winning them all. Drawing a game down three pawns. And Jailing Fabi king in what looked like a winning pawn and rook endgame but with the rook stuck defending the pawn and king stuck, it fizzled out as a draw.
Also, nice commentary from Danny and Naroditsky during the matchup. Made the match so much more exciting.
MVL needs to wear his boxing glove for their next matchup

Yes - but Magnus had 6s left on the clock. He expected Fabiano to move the queen, so he pre-moved Nd5 to place the king in check: ruclips.net/video/zz6dBcPmW_Q/видео.html
Fabiano was probably playing against this expectation to catch Magnus off-guard.
Yep totally possible but Time scramble i think
He absolutely could but probably time pressure and he didn't think that he would blunder his queen so pre-moved

5:54 I truly wish RUclips had different fonts so I could properly express how much Levy said "Knight to H2" like a 200 year old goblin, but alas, you'll just have to watch the video.
Magnus 'Aegon' Targaryen the conqueror is an apt thumbnail.
13:13 did magnus miss a free queen here or is it just my hallucination
Fabiano goes home after this unfortunate match. All that's keeping him going is getting to go home, boot up the computer, put on his favorite chess RUclipsr, relax, and have a few laughs.
27 Minutes later, a single tear drops and he goes to bed.
(jk - I'd prefer to think he got some renewed vigor after a rest, and will be out with a vengeance in the next tournament! Let's be honest, the man has *nothing* to prove to anyone but himself. He's the man!)
Magnus definitely had some beads stuffed somewhere.

It isn't your fault Levy. The only way Fabiano could have his chess "poisoned" after meeting you is if he got the Gotham Rap stuck in his head during the match xD
"And what does Magnus do throughout this game? just... plays moves"
Catching it live was one of the most incredible things I've ever seen.

I cant imagine how Fabiano had to have felt in this game. This man is among the greatest chess players of our generation, studies and plays probably hours everyday, aquired the highest rank, Grandmaster, possible and devoted his life to this game, perfecting his every move.
All of that just to have some random guy from Norway being born the absolute god of chess, destroying every grandmaster with ease and gapping you in an very important match like you are a 450 Elo player.
