Sure enough pretty of a ride .
The fairtrade waltzer ride is a glorious thing. But, I think the open design is a bad thing.
Back in the late 80's and early 90's, the EVANS waltzer (a maxwell branded one), was almost completely enclosed, with three small entrances/exits. This made the whole thing like it's own nightclub, and because you couldn't see much of it, just a flash of lasers and strobes, it made you more curious and want to go in.
Once in, you were putty in the operators hands, because the guy on the mic would spot potential customers and encourage them to come up the steps and inside, then encourage them to the handrail and onto the ride.
It was a brilliant, money-making, process, and one only a very skilled team could do.
The open waltzers are a bit like street prostitutes, everything is on display already and there is no mystery.
