I can't believe the dexterity Don has at 92!!!
A national treasure !
What a magnificent musician! Finding this performance was a gift to me, Thank You @Nattermann 🏆 Bravissimo @ Mr. Don Preston 💐
This is very odd. I have believed for 55 years that Don Preston could not read music. I am not sure why now, but I have a vague memory that Zappa said that some of the early Mothers could not read music, and perhaps I unfairly thought Preston was one of them. I know I used to marvel at how good his solos were, in particular the opening to "Little House I Used To Live In," considering he couldn't read. Now I don't know how I could have been so dense as to not figure it out. Thanks for posting this concert!
I Didn't Know that Don Preston could Play! Magnificent Really Don! Play On for Frank!
And the first word is discorperate, it means to leave your body. Beautiful!
Chapeau! Was für ein toller Auftritt.
This is really cool! Love his jazz playing.
As a child of the 60s II love this man.
Thanks
nice
I was waiting for the intro to Little House I Used To Live In!
❤
Don and this magnificent soprano play the coffin joe soundtrack... master and mistress at work
This is beyond wonderful.
There. is a young composer/pianist/violinst/conductor named Alma Duestcher who has been doing the "notes out of a hat" imrov since she was a little girl.
She mostly writes "beautiful" music, as she thinks there is enough ugliness in the world already.
Her "Siren Waltz" though takes traffic sounds and transforms them slowly into a stunning melody.
Check out her improvs, "Siren Waltz", and much more here on 'tubes...
was really wanting to hear Sofa, but then Don's time was before that album's release - still, many thanks and a big cheer from the delta
Don's twice my age and plays better than I ever will. Dammit.
That's your answer right there. Keep playing.
@@lepoisson Yeah, but he played better than me when he was half my age as well!
Good job, ty both
who is the soprano?
What is that? At first I thought it was a persistent mosquito.
