I agree, and some extractors leave sebum still in the pore while injuring the skin if they are overused or aggressively applied. Dr. Lee relies on them a lot and they are quite damaging to some of the more elderly clients whose skin is thin.
I stupidly purchased 2 hoping that they would work for both my daughter and I and they have never worked as I wasn't willing to cause damage to the skin because it would require much more pressure than other extractors or methods needed to get the job done. My daughter has a very low pain tolerance level so we developed a skincare routine that helped decrease the amount of tough and deeper blackheads from developing.
I worked for a doctor for many years who also used his fingers a lot. He said he had better control, especially after determining the pain threshhold of the patient.
I know from experience that the upper lip is EXTREMELY painful! I went to a spa & had a facial. No other spa person had ever tried to do my upper lip. When I was younger I used to trust that the lady would do what’s right for my skin. On my third time in this spa, she started working on my upper lip. I was really glad that she was going to do it and even though the pain was INTENSE, I was glad she was doing it. I just grinned and beared it. I gave her a big tip and thanked her. Now I’m older and have more of a voice. So one time and done. Never had to do the upper lip again! 😊
My god, she must have a ridiculous pain threshold. I don't get acne much but I've had a few blackheads here and there along my lips and they are so incredibly painful. Great job to this patient for toughing this out (and frankly for having the self-control not to do it herself).

Yes, I used to get little pimples on my lips too. But it turned out that I was using the wrong lip liner! The one I used was too waxy for my skin and it was blocking up my pores. I was wondering if that's what this young girl is doing? Could be! Love from Amanda in Australia ❤️

Donna Flanagan, when I was younger I had mega loads of blackheads whilst going through puberty, and I can honestly say I have never had a blackhead that itched, nor have I been in contact with people who has had this problem either!
@@wazz1154 really? I get itchy blackheads all the time. I always theorized it was the plug not moving when the rest of the pore vibrated, like when you speak or make a face. Or if your skin was dry. I guess everyone is different.

You are a great person, honest and reliable. Thank you for helping me stay calm and focused as I'm terminally ill but somehow I'm still here after my lifelong specialists gave me 2 years at the most 12 years ago when I was 32. I have a lot of severe pain throughout my body and I try to use mindfulness distraction so that I can take less pain relief. Xx
I'm so sorry you have to deal with that kind of pain. I too deal with chronic pain every day all day. I've only recently found that distraction and prayer are a huge part of getting even the smallest amount of relief. Something I've learned from personal experience is there's only so far that doctors can go and then God steps in. I pray that you are healed in the name of Jesus. God bless you😊

It's been a tough couple of years with both of my parents passing away, broken into and assaulted etc but I always say to myself that God doesn't give us more than we can handle and He picks us up every time we fall. It's certain frequencies that affect parts of your brain. There's all kinds of channels with different kinds to help with pretty much anything you are needing. Like sleep, depression and pain. The trick is to be in a dark quiet room and maybe lay down with your ear buds in. Having headphones or ear buds on is the key. You also have to try different channels out but most of them are legit. I used to get a blackhead just inside my nose that would have a hair in it. I would periodically pluck the hair and pinch the pore. My eyes would water and burn when I plucked the hair!
That is one tough young lady. What a legend, she was so stoic. As someone who suffered cystic acne until I was 38, I know exactly how painful these pimples can be around the nose and mouth. I take my hat off to anyone who can refrain from squeezing! I struggled with pimples that were surface blackheads, I had to remove them. Not sure if others feel the same way 🤷🏻♀️either way; awesome, strong, tough young woman 💙
I had blackheads in my ears and lips when I was a teen. Mom would take an extractor in my ear and it would hurt so bad. I loved hearing them swoosh out though. But boy, did that hurt. This young lady is so strong!
I would get blackheads in my ear too but my mom didn't buy an extractor tool she used the end of a bobby pin 😂 it hurts so bad but that pop and seeing how much Gunk came out was so relieving. 🎉
The lips and ears…OUCH! I was JUST thinking those are the ones that make your eyes water and then you said it. Both spots are very sensitive and she did amazing!

Yes! For blackheads, better than Dr. Pimple Popper. Dr. Lee sometimes leaves stuff uncleared or misses blackheads near the ones she’s working on. Young lady did great!
I can understand the black heads in the ear. But, are people just afraid to squeeze their pimples? I really have a hard time understanding going to a doctor for pimple popping. If I get a bump that sucker is gone as soon as I notice it. LOL No judgment just trying to understand.
You are lucky that you haven't had a bigger infection or scarring. I am a retired nurse. We used to get a lot of patients with big infections due to home-popped pimples. Those usually left scars, too. If you don't know how to do it safely, you risk scarring, deeper infection and even MRSA. If you must do home extractions, learn how to do them safely. Ask a doctor or a dermatologist, or a licensed esthetician to teach you.
I used to get big blackheads in my ears just like that when I went through puberty. My mom would go after them with bobby pins and it was the most painful thing I'd ever experienced. This young lady is very tough to sit so quietly through all that.

My (late) mil used to call the ones that come up in the ears, PimpJennys. I have no idea why & she didn’t either as her mother called them PimpJennys too. The day I married my husband, I won the lottery of mothers-in-law. She was amazing. She passed away a couple years ago. The part of our lives she encompassed feels empty, but we have joy in knowing she isn’t in pain anymore.

I always love how your always like “almost there “ or “it’s just a little more “ . I have such bad anxiety so I need to know what’s going on if I can’t see it so it helps me alot to stay calm when my doctor is giving me like a little “progress report “ . Especially when something is really painful it’s so much easier to “ride it out” when you know it’s almost over or how much longer you have to hold out. I have never had extractions done but getting lazer hair removal on my face hurts so bad . Especially the chin ugh! So when the lady is like , “ok row is almost done “ the pain is little instantly more bearable .
You're very kind and if you're helping homeless or poverty level is very nice of you. There are so many in Florida all through out that have cysts from substance abuse walking around in their face that are large. In the face and back.

I have a cup extractor (I bought it over fifty years ago),it is made out of one piece of straight metal.Just before the cup extractor and the loop extractor at the other end,the metal flattens.This allows you to put pressure with your thumb enabling easier and less painful extraction.It is as new and no other design has been so effective or less painful.I was wondering if you can still buy this design and if so whether you had tried it. It is fab to see younger patients being treated sensitively but not being patronised.

It is very painful. I've gotten zits on my lip before it is a very sensitive area, so unfortunately it hurts when the zits get popped.

Never heard of an itchy blackhead, and these would not be painful. A true blackhead would only be painful if it got infected.

That is one tough young lady. What a legend, she was so stoic. As someone who suffered cystic acne until I was 38, I know exactly how painful these pimples can be around the nose and mouth. I take my hat off to anyone who can refrain from squeezing! I struggled with pimples that were surface blackheads, I had to remove them. Not sure if others feel the same way 🤷🏻♀️either way; awesome, strong, tough young woman 💙

I had blackheads in my ears and lips when I was a teen. Mom would take an extractor in my ear and it would hurt so bad. I loved hearing them swoosh out though. But boy, did that hurt. This young lady is so strong!
I would get blackheads in my ear too but my mom didn't buy an extractor tool she used the end of a bobby pin 😂 it hurts so bad but that pop and seeing how much Gunk came out was so relieving. 🎉

The lips and ears…OUCH! I was JUST thinking those are the ones that make your eyes water and then you said it. Both spots are very sensitive and she did amazing!

This was Wonderful ! I Love how you use multiple instruments ( including finger squeezes) however they work best at the time. It all depends on the needs of the patient' s situation! Love your work Dear.( I'm old)😊 a retired nurse actually.

Yes! For blackheads, better than Dr. Pimple Popper. Dr. Lee sometimes leaves stuff uncleared or misses blackheads near the ones she’s working on. Young lady did great!

I can understand the black heads in the ear. But, are people just afraid to squeeze their pimples? I really have a hard time understanding going to a doctor for pimple popping. If I get a bump that sucker is gone as soon as I notice it. LOL No judgment just trying to understand.
You are lucky that you haven't had a bigger infection or scarring. I am a retired nurse. We used to get a lot of patients with big infections due to home-popped pimples. Those usually left scars, too. If you don't know how to do it safely, you risk scarring, deeper infection and even MRSA. If you must do home extractions, learn how to do them safely. Ask a doctor or a dermatologist, or a licensed esthetician to teach you.
I feel like doctors may be ASKING patients to do these extra pops for RUclips content. Probably free or huge discount

I used to get big blackheads in my ears just like that when I went through puberty. My mom would go after them with bobby pins and it was the most painful thing I'd ever experienced. This young lady is very tough to sit so quietly through all that.

My (late) mil used to call the ones that come up in the ears, PimpJennys. I have no idea why & she didn’t either as her mother called them PimpJennys too.
The day I married my husband, I won the lottery of mothers-in-law. She was amazing. She passed away a couple years ago. The part of our lives she encompassed feels empty, but we have joy in knowing she isn’t in pain anymore.

I always love how your always like “almost there “ or “it’s just a little more “ . I have such bad anxiety so I need to know what’s going on if I can’t see it so it helps me alot to stay calm when my doctor is giving me like a little “progress report “ . Especially when something is really painful it’s so much easier to “ride it out” when you know it’s almost over or how much longer you have to hold out. I have never had extractions done but getting lazer hair removal on my face hurts so bad . Especially the chin ugh! So when the lady is like , “ok row is almost done “ the pain is little instantly more bearable .

You're very kind and if you're helping homeless or poverty level is very nice of you. There are so many in Florida all through out that have cysts from substance abuse walking around in their face that are large. In the face and back.

I have a cup extractor (I bought it over fifty years ago),it is made out of one piece of straight metal.Just before the cup extractor and the loop extractor at the other end,the metal flattens.This allows you to put pressure with your thumb enabling easier and less painful extraction.It is as new and no other design has been so effective or less painful.I was wondering if you can still buy this design and if so whether you had tried it. It is fab to see younger patients being treated sensitively but not being patronised.
He says "She is tough" almost like he's surprised. Lol Women have a much greater tolerance for pain. ❤ Still a great show. Love his attention to detail 😊
