Now gurl 4:53 was a word! As a guy with long hair (yep that's me in the pfp), I always wash my hair every 2 weeks (I had pushed it to 3 occasionally because of my job which I hated doing). I always mentally prepared myself 2 days in advance by just telling myself I can do this lol no lie, setting up a music playlist the day of or in advance, deciding what style I want to have, and blocking out a time. Cuz my wash days are hella involved: wash my hair twice, apply rinse out conditioner, use the rise out conditioners slip to finger detangle my entire head, rise all of that out of my hair until there is not slip left, apply deep conditioner for 1hr +, rinse that out about 95%, then style my hair which takes 3-5 hrs depending on long long my newgrowth is. Total time 7.5-10hrs max...I know gurl crazy!!!
This always gets me in the right headspace. My natural hair is like yours in the sense of the texture differences but its tighter than yours all over. The back is what i personally call 4a.5 (4a and a half lol) which is the tightest 4a can get before becoming 4b. The perimeter of my entire head is very fine yet dense hair--not sure the texture but its loose enough where I can lay it with water alone. My temples are definitely 4c (harder to define the curls, takes more time and care combing, and has very tiny curls). However, the rest of my hair is solid 4b.
I personally didn't mind the texture difference but preferred straight hair on myself due to being natural all my life. So I have Japanese Hair Straightening now. This was the best hair choice I have made---and I have done a lot with my hair: S-curl texturizers, locs, bleach, etc.
I took the time to really learn my hair starting in 2017 after watching videos like yours with girls and woman with my hair type and finally crated a routine with efficient products back in 2019. Been living my best hair life every since.
Gurlll yess! I have 3-4 different curl patterns in my head as well , and finding products that can encompass them all is a task. You got it though!❤
I am so happy i found someone with hair that looks like mine. My hair is the exact same color but I have issues with definition. My roots tend to stay puffy and become more defined at the end.
