Hi, I need your feedback! Feel free to answer these questions or comment on something different. What did you like about this video? What did you dislike? How could I improve next time? What do you think about the intro?
@@Enchantiatshirts I know that's how it looks like in many games lol, but it's not really true, many people wore them since they offer great protection against the weather and were quite fashionable at the time.
Wojciech, your production is on point! Music and sound design is perfect and doesn't drown out the dialogue, the locations, props, and clothing is fantastic. And the information is well presented and interesting. You should be really proud, and I really hope your channel pops off!
this video is so well made!! the production quality is great and the info is super useful. would love to see more about medieval clothing... maybe something about how people carried things eg. belts/pouches/backpacks? idk just an idea!
Very nice and informative. A pity you didn't show the other two hoods in the same manner you presented the first one. Some of us are also interested in the actual construction of the garment: )
Okay, who tells all those kids who put their base ball caps on backside front that this is actually not something new, but something people in the Middle Ages already did?
Well, yeah this video was definately inspired by him. I tried my best to add some other pieces of information though :) Also, I try to make content about other historical periods as well. Thanks for commenting!
4:40 haha, that seems like something modern humans would do :D "let's take this perfectly functional garment and bunch it up and put it on upside down and call it fashionable!" Lol! It's good to see we haven't changed at all in hundreds of years. Now I want a proper medieval hood, but I want to wear it properly, not bunched up and upside down ^_^ Awesome video thanks :D

I always thought that hoods was closth of thieves and that it was mainly used to hide face

It would've been great to see this channel continue jammed packed with information.
Heeeey new video! Amazing editing, it feels very professional. I like the period costume in this video.

@@APinchOfHistory I told you I'm not missing anything!
I remember that lol!
Always nice to find a good history channel that I'd not seen before. Keep up the great content. :)
Thanks, I will! :D
I make props and costumes and I was thrilled to be commissioned to make a proper hood and mantle for a client. Of course it was linen and wool.
Great to know, I would probably need some historical costumes in the future too! :)

I wore one today on my walk here in the Swedish winter, it's a really windy day and it worked superb!
Yaay! Glad to hear that.
I like it :-) I'am really amazed that hoods can be dressed in so many different ways.
Good video, love the production and content!
Thanks, Ashish! You can check out my other video too, I think they can get you intrested as well! :)
Thank you, I did not know this.

Interesting video. Thanks!

Hi! Nice video! I would have loved some presentation of sources (manuscripts or surviving pieces)
Thanks! Good suggestion. For medieval hoods you can find plenty of manuscripts in Internet. :)
Nice and informative.
Thanks! :)
Great information.
Glad you liked it!

Very well done !
Thank you very much!
Taking a bit of inspiration from a certain Jason Kingsley eh?
Not that I'm complaining, this style of video kicks ass

@@APinchOfHistory You've definitely captured my attention. I think your videos are very nice ❤️
Your accent is lovely as well
Where did you get that hood?
From SPES Medieval Market on the internet. The clothing I bought from there was always good quality, I can fully recommend these pals.

You are right, they were the same as we are :D Cheers!
I do medieval reenactment. When Texas had the freeze and lost power, I wore my hood in house. I was never too cold.
Should bring them back in style
I agree there =)
Yeah, absolutely, they are actually very practical!
I have a gold velvet one
I love it
My daughter has since made me a good one. I used it all last winter and intend to again.
The tail at the top point of the hood is called "liripipe"
True! Thanks.
I'm really proud of my roommate!
It seems so PRACTICAL! Waxed wool and your head and shoulders stay dry in the rain.
I know right! Medieval clothes were incredibly practical indeed!
word is Europe is pretty xenophobic and Poland is even more so, especially toward guests from Ukraine and Russia. how true is that? tx
