Kind of brings to mind a conversation he had with Teyla back in season 1 I think? She beat him in sparring and she berated him for his performance. She said something along the lines of "What if this had been a real fight?" Sheppard replied with "If this was a real fight I would have shot you.".

The feeling is mutual. I recently started watching SG-1 from the beginning and following it up with SG:A. The first season of SG-1 is quite lowbudget and campy though, you can tell. But then again, there is some charm in that.
but he still complains about his atoms being scattered throughout the universe in one episode, and several times says he’s a Doctor not a pilot. They kind of play on the whole Star Trek OS. The other thing, Paul McGillion’s Scottish accent (Dr. Beckett) is way more realistic than James Doohan’s (Scotty). Doohan’s “accent” was made fun of all the time by real Scottish people as being absolutely terrible. It was probably because he was Canadian and his parents were originally both Irish. McGillion was born in Scotland, and then his family moved to Canada. In real life he has a faint Scottish accent.
Funny u should say that the actor auditioned for scotty in the new trek films but obviously it went to Simon pegg. But the producers did love Paul so they gave him a small part in the film. He is the officer that tells Kirk that he is on academic suspension and is not allowed on the enterprise.
I was so annoyed with how the writers made Teyla a cool character in the first season and then she just declined. She had a solid foundation but absolutely no progression aside from her pregnancy, which in itself was handled poorly. Gragh. A waste of potential.
@@vanyadolly She (the actress) decided to get pregnant, didn't she? That kind of ruins what she could be doing, story-wise. No more action scenes or acrobatics for a while. From Teyla to Scully to Kira on DS9.

Found something else Joe Flanigan (Lt. Col. John Sheppard) is in. It is called Metal Hurlant Chronicles, and each episode is a separate story with a separate cast. It is based on the comic book of the same name. He is in Season 1, episode 5 “Master of Destiny”. It is available on Amazon Prime for free. It was made in 2012. I would love to see him in something like that permanently ...
Without prompt medical attention, quite possibly. To quote the TV Tropes website page 'Only a Flesh Wound': "In reality, there's no "safe" place to shoot a person, not even in a seemingly non-vital extremity like a leg or arm. ... There are huge blood vessels in a human being's legs too, a shot that nicks the femoral artery will cause a fatal loss of blood in only a few minutes."
Well, if you don't hit an artery, it takes significantly longer for a person to bleed out, especially if they apply pressure to the wound. They were also hit with a P90, which if I'm not mistaken is a submachine gun which fires pistol rounds that are less likely to cause a grievous, life-threatening wound than a rifle round.
But then again, this series is just not in outer space. It is in a another galaxy so complaining that a P90 damage to a real person is not true.. Sci-fi is out of your league...
@@dragonslair951167 Actually, if it fired traditional pistol rounds, it would do _more_ tissue damage. The P90 fires 5.7x28mm rounds because it's actually a PDW, or "personal defense weapon," for short. They're kind of a weird hybrid of rifles, SMGs, and pistols. Small and compact, like an SMG or even a pistol in the case of certain designs such as the Heckler & Koch MP7 family, but they fire a small, high-velocity round which is designed to penetrate armor better than a traditional pistol caliber such as 9x19mm or .45 ACP (11.43x23mm), but also to be lighter and easier to control on automatic than a rifle caliber like 5.56x45mm. To be fair, the Five-seveN pistol, which was developed alongside the P90, is also chambered in this cartridge, so you could argue it _is_ a pistol round. But it's a bit...inaccurate to say it's a normal pistol round. The small diameter and high velocity means it's less likely to stop in the target, and it makes relatively small wound channels compared to most rifle or pistol cartridges. It's highly specialized towards punching through lighter body armor, which is why it's not more widely used. Bottom line: McKay still definitely needs medical attention, but he's probably going to be able to hold out until evac arrives, unless the round nicked something vital, and it apparently didn't.
