That "I hope your 2020 is amazing" hasn't being going over well so far, huh? lol
What's your pc specs?
Ha I thought the same thing. Like, gee thanks man...see what you did!

At least it's going well for gamers. Isolation and video game binging. Yeah, been there, done that.
I was just about to comment that hahah
"Let me know if I have to chase rocks down the cliff."
"I have zero visibility"
Sounds like the game is becoming more unpredictable and immersive. I like it.
2/5, could've been higher quality. Lot's of bugs, but not everything was bad. Would not recommend, but wouldn't say no to doing again.
@@scottwhite9635, technically, the game is still in what is essentially an open beta and is nowhere close to being complete, and the devs are asking the player base for feedback. So there is room for improvement.
@@tokusatsukeyblade797 alpha, not beta. Alpha is when they are still adding features, beta is when they are tweaking the game and bug hunting
i love how the players get to relay actually useful (more or less, critical) information to each other that they're all mutually interested in. it takes on a much more realistic and immersive experience that's a lot more appealing than what most multiplayer online games are like where its mostly silly and or plain rude behavior, just because the players are more or less bored and seek attention.
Its going to allow groups to play a detailed version of the part of any scifi game they have ever wanted. Or atleast thats the goal.
Make or break is going to be if ganking is an issue when it highly populatd. Not only that, games like eve online had to change ALOT very quickly in the first yer because players banded together and caused chaos like they never could imagine lol. Thats the issue with games either so much freedom. Im not sure what they are ganna do when 100 capital ships and hundreds of sub caps get together.
@@zhain0 Theyre gonna do the most obvious thing in a game like this: Form a Coalition and begin indoctrinating players into it. With enough time, they'll form a governmental hierarchy. Eventually, factions will begin to crop up, economies will form, and a society will begin.

its shame that the snow effect appears inside the cockpit.
It does kinda suck. Some of the ships do have a snow barrier on the windshield that causes water to accumulate on the glass and snow to not get in, I just suppose some ships need a quick update for the new blizzards.
Just want to be sure you know that the laseroperation cockpits dont have glass around. You sit in the open.
@@tek2023 yeah only the middle one is closed

I love everything about this, the game looks absolutely stunning.
The snow screen effect when you're flying first person looks like it is INSIDE the ship, CIG need to fix that so it looks like it is outside the windows not in your cockpit.
i dont know what minute do you mean, but please note that there are no windows on rear mining positions... miner in the middle is behind the glass, but two miners on the side are not protected by windows, they just literally sit out there without any protection - maybe thats where you have seen the snow going into the cockpit
Yeah, it's like making a negative particle volume that "kills" specific particles that hit or fall inside of it.
@@ruakij6452 yes but thre are no windows, so it is not a bug
@@ruakij6452 oh nice, thx for sending a minute ... yes it looks like a bug, that room should be isolated from outside world
I think it's like that because it is composed of virtually rendered particles rather than just a graphical effect. Although I do agree that they need to find a fix for it.
I would love to see VRChat style hubs where you could meet up with and form teams with other pilots, and I would love to see procedurally generated hostile wildlife that spawns near nodes, but it's crazy to see how far this has come, really enjoyable to watch this style of gameplay.
The R&R stations out in space are kindof like that.

7:00 yeah, CIG lead UI developer last year: "but as for questions about a compass, idk if that is really necessary in space?"
Sigh.....
with the amount of cash they have been given, I'm *fairly fucking sure a compass wouldn't be that much of a burden to add.*
Seeing how flying in atmosphere is a good portion of this game, one would think it is....
but how does compass work in space ?
A compass is needed as fuck.

Thank god there are videos like these which help me relax at night time. Always been skeptical about Star Citizen, but have been following it for a long time.
For the excellent graphics and long development time this game has had so far I am honestly surprised you get snow and fog from outside, inside of the ship...
when there are no window, the snow goes inside... it was explained multiple times in the comments below this video :) inside cockpit, where are windows, the snow is actually on the windows and there are also other cool effects like freeze and smelting... better dont get surprised by things u dont know anything about, and get in the verse when it is for free, to see it via your own eyes... this game is free to access at least two times per year
There will keep being bugs as long as they keep adding new features independently of how much time they've been working on it, weather itself is quite recent as they added it in the last patch a couple of months ago, and I said above as they keep adding new features in the next years new bugs will keep popping up

The snow pass through the glass into the cockpit?!!
This is weird.
He's sitting in a mining turret, they are not shielded from the environment.
@Nihilism the mining turrets are completely exposed to vacuum and or weather. They have airlocks, so the turret itself doesn't have to be sealed
The snow effect didn't appear inside Ursa Rover and Carrack cockpits during the CitizenCon demo. Patch 3.9 will probably fix this!
Computers on board should use ai to remember position of SEEN terrain then draw it via mixed reality to show its new position if those objects or terrain are occluded by bad weather. Could be drawn as blue or green outlines...
I feel like this is a very cool in-universe thing that could easily be added to the game.
And a Happy and Prosperous New Year to you! May all your videos be monetarized, and your restrictions be lifted
Watching this has made me want to try my hand at mining now....but I'll be doing my IRL job then as well as play it xD

Star citizen still in very early development
After 8 years and $250M in funding, it is still in development.
It's really hardcore roleplay, the game is set in the 2950's so they are holding off until then on release for immersions sake.
echo it's kinda not designed for current tech tho, it's a very interesting idea for a game and a way to develop one
Accolyte plenty of games with much more funding and less innovation have taken a decade to make.
two tips:
1. using the moles unupgraded mining head at .10% turning it on and off you can mine hand mineables from the ship
2. hold Shift when going down the ladders to quickly move around, youll just slide down instead of climbing
Stop lying.
@@JDManring I tell no lies, Arbor mining lasers @ 1400dps @ 0.10% using a quick on off method can mine hand mine nodes, you cant use the extractor mining head, youll need to walk out and pick them up.
Holding L-Shift/Sprint down the ladders does move you a little quicker down all those MOLE ladders.
dont you get saucy with me now boy.
Love this kind of missions ! How do you collect the big rocks tho ? They disappear and then pop-up in your ship or you have to broke them into little pieces ?

In all seriousness, it’s supposed to - again, SUPPOSED TO - be a fun space sim where you and your friends can squad up, make some space money, and keep the piece in an ever-growing persistent world. As of right now it is just that, but you crash every hour or so. Not like plane-crash, but if you try that game you’ll get it. Pretty dope. Would be nice to eventually see some practical controls for pilot of a ship like this (Route miner scan overlay to pilot). Would be cool to see the frigid atmosphere affect the fracturing laser in some manner. It should be hazardous and more difficult to mine in these settings but perhaps have the chance to extract from richer outcrops. In terms of mining on foot, they should have veins in the sides of those chunks of rock, that would feel and look more practical than getting out of your massive mining ship to mine a little mound of stuff. :\
