    • Date & Time: September 2, 2021 (Thur) ┃10:40~12:10(KST)
    • Organizer: Stimson Center(38north)
The COVID-19 pandemic was a stark reminder of how fragile even the most advanced public health systems can be in the face of crisis without strong leadership, preparation and cooperation. It also highlighted the need for global public health engagement, on all levels, to help strengthen national systems and capabilities around the world, and to be collectively better prepared for future crises.
While North Korea took drastic measures to prevent an outbreak of COVID-19, reporting no confirmed cases, its public health system remains especially vulnerable to crisis. This session will examine opportunities for bilateral and multilateral cooperation with North Korea on public health that would help the country meet its strategic health goals, strengthen its systems and prepare for disaster, and create pathways toward more regular and sustainable engagement.
