Several shots of the band leader Roy Fox and his band playing and singing the jolly little song 'It ain't no fault of mine'.

I think it IS Nat Gonella.
I met him in the 90s when he was living in the same care home as my great aunt, in Gosport Hampshire.
I spent an afternoon with Nat and my dad and great aunt, in his flat, and we drank lots of tea as he showed us his amazing photograph albums and told us his life story.
When the big band era ended, he worked for a while on a car production line in the Midlands.
Harry Berly starts on ocarina, then trumpeter Nat Gonella sings.
The band:
Nat Gonella, and Sid Buckman, trumpets
Joe Ferrie, trombone
Jim Easton, Ernest Ritte, Harry Berly, reeds
Lew Stone, piano
Al Bowlly, guitar
Don Stuteley, bass
Bill Harty, drums
Who is the second one singing?
@@jadonpedroza4220Joe Ferrie
@@Matt78collector I found who it actually is, It's Jim Easton
Nice to see some new (for me) Al Bowlly footage!
He wore slippers on this occasion
Love this band, my mum was Sid Buckmans 1st cousin and talked about him constantly the star of our East End family❤️
What a soothing speaking voice Roy had!
The whispering cornetest, and the whispering vocals
@@davidglow3 No contest?
The almost illicit pre-swing jazz rendition of 'Whispering' - cut off at the end - makes electrifyingly tantalising listening.
I think in the title card the song is called “whispering” and it’s also by Roy fox.
Could that be Lew Stone on Piano and Nat Gonella doing the vocal?
vice versa?
@1920sman : sure they are
And Al Bowlly on the guitar
Song suits Nat, no one else could have done it justice - but, with hindsight - the band and whoever directed this little film - should have also given a song to Al - perhaps one that is lost to us -Stardust or when day is Done - what a curse and grift hindsight is.
Love the ocarina!
they play "Whispering" in the end
Roy Fox, my dad.
Hello sir, my name is Taylor and I'm currently writing a college essay on Fox's life and career. Any input you could provide on the subject might be a great help to me. I would be very grateful if you would get in touch with me by email (my email is in my channel description.) Thank you :)
@@nadezhdafilaretovna Thank you for asking, Ms. Filaretovna. The last time I saw Fox was when I was 5 years old. Other than brief memories, I only know what my mom told me. I might send an email after reflection. but I wouldn't post here
@@TheMrFarkle Thank you so much, it really means a lot. Happy to hear anything you feel comfortable sharing, and please feel free to take your time with any emails. And of course I wouldn't ask that you post anything publicly that you didn't want to. Thanks again!
A great leader - well travelled and at the core of depression era sounds both sides of the pond .His son brokers good jokes.
Hey There Roy Fox’s son! I own your father’s rarest 78 that isn’t being sold anywhere! I’ve uploaded them recently on my channel, come take a look if you want. I have yet more roy fox 78s to come and will post more of your father’s treasure!
